NO WAY!!! I bought the P1P and freaking love it! I'm a first time printer owner and it's amazing! But if this was out I would have deff scooped this 1 up! Perfect for us FPV Pilots! Cheers!

For sure. I love my P1P, and if you have the budget for it, it will for sure perform better. But the inner cheapskate in me also loves this one. I hope i can get my hands on one at some point.

Multi-color printing enthusiasts might be intrigued by the A1 mini, but its noise level and limitations make the Prusa mini a more attractive choice.

Not for me, as a long time prusa mini user, i just got rid of mine. Bambu for me. The difference between my prusa MK and Bambu are HUGE. Expecting the Prusa Mini to A1 jump to be just as significant. Just better built, more reliable, faster, and a much nicer experience. Prusa is still fantastic, but the jump from an ender 3 to a Prusa MK is like the same jump as an MK to a A1

What printer i more reliable? My P1P has been wayyyyy more reliable than all 5 of my creality and my 4 prusas combined. Not sure why so many have issue, guesing because they are still noobs and creating clogs, overhangs, or other issues that all first time printers do regardless of which printer they are using.

very true. My first printer was a creality CR10, because i thought i wuold make helmets or other large projects. But in all these years, ive only needed that size like 1-2x. Mostly this size will work for a lot of people.

Ax someone who is planning to get into 3D printing, but is trying to work out what is the best FDM printer for me (Prusa Mk4; Bambu P1S or Ankermake m5c?) I will admit that I quite like the look of the Bambu A1! Small, easy to use, easy to service and seems to work well straight away! I probably won't need the AMS but, as the whole package is a good price, I am thinking about getting one when they are released!

Actually I wouldn't buy it without the AMS light. Not becouse of multi colour, but because of supports. Sometimes you have geometrys wich need support - and removing it is always a pain in the a. But as PETG an PLA do not stick together well, you can print the support interface layer in PetG on a PLA print and in PLA on a PETG print. As you mostly only need a few filament changes, both the extra time and the waste are acceptable for getting great results. Also there are functional parts that can profit from using multi colour. For example if you done a DIY electronic project and design a housing. You might label the switches, lights and sliders - and maybe place a logo. Mostly you design your case to use the bottom layers as top or front, due to the very nice texture a powder coated sheet leaves. So you only need 3 layers with layerchanges. As an example take a look at the multi colour version of the display Prusas mk3(s(+)) uses. It looks so much nicer than the standard diplay case and just need 6 filament swaps (o.k., you can do the changes manually (and I did it)) For fancy full colour prints you are totaly correct. For any practical use, its simply to wastefull and takes to much time. Esp. on a smal printer. Of course, if you want to print a dozen times the same object on a bigger printer, waste and added time still remains the same, so per object it decreases a lot. So I understand why many semi-professional users defitily want a bigger version of the x1c. If you have a full colour object with 10by10by10 cm³ volume and a pure printing time of maybe 5h in monochrome and adding an extra 10h just for permernantly changing filaments, thats bad. On the A1 you only can print one at the time. so 15h per object. On a x1c you could place 4, so 5*4+10=30h for 4 objects, so 7.5 h per object. On a 310 by 310 bed you could print 9 objects. So (5*9+10)/9=6h each. There is one point often missed about the AMS: It´s "filamentbuffer", which realy is a "feeder sychronicer". On x1c, p1p, p1s its placed on the side, on the a1 it's integrated into the hub on top. It contains a slider and a spring, there is a magnet in the slider and a hall-effect sensor detecting the position of the slider. The AMS-feeder can deliver filament. As long as the extruder does not print, the spring gets compressed and the slider moves. This is detected, the AMS-feeder stops. If the extruder takes filament, the spring is released, slider mobing back. This tells the AMS feeder to speed up again, delivering filament. If the spring is released to much, it slows down again. A constant synchronizing loop. If the AMS-feeder can not keep up, the spring is totaly released - and as the AMS-feeder is designed to fullfill any reasonable reqest from the extruder, this means filament is tangled. While this sort of synchronizing feeders isn't new (on analoge cinemeas there was a simular method to sync turntable and projector), it's implementation is quite nice. The extruder barely needs any force to pull the filament, as all filament movement till the filament gets to the "filament buffer" is done by the AMS feeder. While you can use the A1 without the AMS light and there is a spoolholder for this, I wouldn't recommend it. The extruder just uses a Nema11. So while it would work, as soon as the needed force increases (for example printing out of a drybox), this might cause problems. While you could actually use dryboxes (or bigger spools) on single colour prints with the AMS light by feeding the filament directly in one of the AMS features (on single colour, you do not need the spool rewinding feature). Actually I like this devision of workload between the extruder and the AMS feeder the most. I would like an stand-alone version for this for my bigger printers, as this would make it easy to use bigger filament spools. One feeder inside the printhead, just pushing filament through the nozzle, so light and fast moving, a seperate feeder to pull the filament and delivering it to the extruder.

I just got an Ender 3 S1 Pro last month before the Ender 3 V3 and this was announced and I see myself getting either the A1-Mini or the Ender 3 V3 as a second printer and the ability multi color is a real high point even if i do just one color at a time the price point is good.

I'm skeptical of the speed claims, but we'll see. Agreed to go without the MMU unless it's just really something you need. If it was enclosed and could be used as a dry box that'd be one thing, but I don't want to put away several rolls of filament between print sessions just to keep them dry. Bambu has created a pretty good ecosystem though, and for some people this might be a good option good out-of-the-box prints while spending significantly less than other Bambus.
@JonE5FPV
@JonE5FPV 7 месяцев назад
For sure, i am thinking speeds will be high for certain prints, but probably not. I did note speed on my prusa mini in certain instances seemed faster than my other larger prusa's. But this should still be faster than most bed slingers because of the vibration analysis stuff it can do to increase speeds.

You are so misleading about the footprint. When you combine the printer, AMS AND the poop receptacle, the footprint becomes unacceptable. The poop issue persists as with all the other printers Bambu lab offers. Why can't they make and integrated 4 nozzle hot end considering all the great engineers they have. This printer is loaded with the latest and greatest features, but issues still exist according to other reviewers. Most of them could not even get a good print for the free wireless mouse kit that came with the printer. Also, the noise cancelling is not that good at higher speeds. The whole system looks piecemealed like it came out of a mad scientists lab. What happened to no bed slingers? Have lost a lot of faith and to be honest interest in Bambu Lab printers.
