Let's Make Banana Bread!
Banana bread is a classic comfort food that's incredibly easy to make. Here's a basic recipe to get you started:
Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Optional: Chopped nuts, chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
Combine wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in extras: Stir in any optional ingredients like nuts or chocolate chips.
Bake: Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool: Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
For a richer flavor, use brown sugar instead of granulated sugar.
You can substitute applesauce for some or all of the butter for a healthier option.
Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth.
