Love Bananarama, so many great and catchy hits but their best years for me were in the 80's as a trio with Siobhan. This book should've been done in 2017 when Siobhan temporarily rejoined the group. She is a huge part of the groups history, popularity and success. Not enough credit given to her. She really should've had a hand in the writing and creation of this book. The lack of credit and attention Jacquie continues to get is still very unfair. She played her part too and was part of the groups history
In the 80's they were the best disco dancing girls SAW had been recording with, especially when they sung Cruel Summer for the Karate Kid film. Magical group👍🎤🎵💞
A very welcome Christmas present, the book made me laugh out loud on many occasions. Particularly the pre-fame fashions. Their enduring friendship in the book is very cute reading. I always looked at Sara, she always seemed to be in the middle!
A lot of pop music in the 80's really didn't stand the test of time, but their biggest hits of Cruel Summer, Venus and I Heard A Rumor are still solid.
Really? A lot? How come 80's music is popular as ever and it is now 2021. Every day thousands of 80s music videos are played on RU-vid and even kids from 13 to 19 years of age are listening to it. Sure there were some songs that didn't but the vast majority are still consistently being played every day. Culture Club Tears for Fears Spandau Ballet Aha to name a few.
@@injanhoi1 No. You're wrong, because for every Culture Club, there was a Starship, For ever Tears for Fears, there was a Klymaxx, for every Aha there was a Falco... and I could go on and on. (Spandau Ballet was terrible, by the way. Aha had maybe two decent songs, Culture Club made so many shit songs, like Karma Chameleon.. I wanna puke thinking of that song.)
Island Scots would describe you 2/3 as 'gallus' ((it's a compliment). When I was whizkidding in education in England, in the 80s, I had all your albums. These days I've got you on RU-vid. All the time! I love Pete Waterman revealing that you insisted on calling him (along with his mum) 'Peter'.
@@anthonypoole6417 Agree she is such a fan fave. She actually didn't know this until the days of social media as back in 88 - 91 she says she was told the fans didn't like her. 😡😢
Ray Of Light Ah, thats sad. It was difficult for Siobhan at times. Jacquie was a young woman, it must've been so lonely for her being left out. I hope her life was a good one after leaving.
Jacquie was brought in from the record company and not because Sara and Keren wanted to replace Siobhan. Jacquie was boring, had no charm and was plainly an imposter. So that's why she wasn't mentioned.
