Yeah nah, this video says "band kids" but like, every school's mostly just got the *one*. Maybe a couple for big programs, but mostly it's just one fuckin' guy.

As a person in band I can confirm there are people like this who base their lives on reddit and discord and are the most annoying people ever. Bruh I'm about to quit band tbh because of these people. Like they're still stuck in 2018💀

I play the trombone in band and I think I'm an exception of this at my band class, only 2 trombones (including me) don't have a horrible sense of humor, and there's one guy who hovers in between the 2 categories. However for my class, the ones that get into the most trouble are the alto saxophones, second being the trombones, surprisingly, the trumpets are actually chill.
I find this very accurate, but sometimes it feels like a large cult in the school, which I cannot complain, I enjoy seeing members sacrificing to Christmas music in October
As a dude who did band for like 7 years, this is way too accurate 💀 I hated these Mfs with a passion cause they so weird and the majority of the band found them annoying.
i love being a band kid. we don’t all act like this. there’s this one kid that plays trumpet though, and he legit made an amongus rap a few months ago. and posted it. i do some of this to be cringe on purpose , but he’s a whole nother breed
As someone in band, we have a trumpet, saxophone, AND percussionist like this. Actually, there's two trumpets, and the saxophone player was originally in percussion, so it's all them. (Even if I am also in percussion)
We may make fun of these people but a lot of them are the best people I've ever met, they may initially appear annoying or too offputting but they're very easy to get along with and have a lot of heart.
As a band kid, I can confirm that only 1% of the band is actually cringe. The rest are just weird in their own ways. Not cringe per say, but just weird. Once you join band, you spiral into this mesh of weirdness, education, and fun (of course that is if your band director can actually teach music theory and instruments and treat you like their own kids). As you get to know the band you start to become fond of the weirdness and just accept everyone for who they are. I’m a junior so I don’t have that much time left with the band but I know for sure that I’ll be sobbing once I graduate.
As a junior and someone in orchestra, they are pretty much the same as band kids. But I still haven’t become fond of a lot of them (and probably never will).
no cause when they try to get you to join marching band, at my school that's literally the teacher and glares at anyone in the halls who aren't in band
I was the only flutist in my band None of us were like this But somehow I still got this reputation as the Reddit band kid I don’t even use Reddit (not at the time it happened or now either) I never thought any of those “memes” were funny and there were like 10 other kids who fit this stereotype but I got fit with the reputation for whatever reason lol
Bro whatever school you go to has lame band kids. Ours was lit asf. It was filled with people who also did football, volleyball, honors society, bread club, etc. We kicked ash and had a rock concert and parties and stuff
ALRIGHT! gonna clear some things up: As a certified band kid, I declare that not all of us act like this, it is only the trumpets (but i can confirm our favourite song is megalovania)
in my band, this is literally all of the percussionists. Our tuba is pretty chill, our trumpet army is actually really good, our saxophone duo is loud at times, and our only flute and I (the only clarinet) get tuned out A LOT. However, the flute and I have our own cute little duet at one point, highlighting how amazing our instruments are (Note: This is specifically for my practice group, there's four groups in total.)
All the band kids in my class are these stereotypes 😭 I swear I hear them say the most outrageous things like “Guys I’m the alpha omega skibbiti Ohio Gyatt rizzler” or other crazy stuff like that 😭 they be moaning 24/7 and I kid you not, I caught these 2 kids making out in the band hall for attention I’m scared of them 😭😭
the megalovania part is so accurate. In jazz band, whenever the teacher isn’t in the process of directing SOMEBODY will always have to play funni sans song. it’s gotten to the point where I’ve picked up the habit to a degree and whenever I pick up an instrument I’ve never played before my first action is to learn megalovania
The trumpet on is the definition pf the second trumpet row in my class; I am in the first, my row is good, even I get great grades, etc.. The thing takes up half a row in length and two in width, for refrence.

there is a trumpet player i've known since middle school who talks and acts the same way, says hes athletic and talks about going to marathons while being borderline obese, and shows off his expensive calculators to everyone
ok i admit that i use reddit and discord AND i'm a "band kid" but i rarely run up to people and shove a meme in their face, and when i do, it's because i know their humor and i know they'll laugh at it
