I’m kind of baffled at the sitting comments. 90% at least are there for Incubus and the vast majority of them don’t know Band Maid at all. They certainly made new fans tonight.
Agree with this, they seemed to be enjoying themselves enough. And with Mike joining them onstage and playing that will definitely get them more interested in a band they probably know little if anything about
And 98% of them are from the Japanese culture. It’s interesting to note that these are Japanese fans of an American band being exposed to Japanese band, in Japan. I am sure everyone had a great time, both bands, and the audience. 100% positive situation.
Thanks Peter - did not expect to get a recording. Hope you meet up with the Incubus fan you interviewed before the show - would like to hear her comments.
They really aren't that tight live... there was a botched chord change at the start of Domination (which I mention because I was at that point in the video), vocals aren't always completely on key. I like the band man but don't blow smoke
@@gungaddin buddy, there was literally a mistake as I read the comment for the first time. I like the band, they sound good live, but to call the performance studio-like is horseshit lmao
I love these women!!! I am an old guy now, but Band Maid makes me feel young agian! They are so good, the very best. I love them all, but Saiki has absolutely charmed me. I love her voice. It is so strong and then soft and has even made me cry. Kname, Akane, and Misa too amaze, while Miku just keeps getting better and better and I love her. I wish Band Maid knew how much they have brought joy into my life. I especially want to thank Miku for having this dream that became Band Maid. Thank you Ladies! Thank you1 THANK YOU!!!!!🥰😍🤩❤💥
The crowd were there to see Incubus, not Band-Maid. To be given the opportunity to open for Incubus is only a positive and it seems that the Maidiac pool will grow after this performance. I hope it was a great night for everyone.... the fans, the bands, the support staff and venue staff. Cool Band-Maid set. The ladies did "Introduce Themselves" in the best way possible.
Watching Misa and Akane in the last song Domination make eye contact, Misa move close and just lock in is all you need to know about the best rhythm section on the planet.
Solid set...they looked and sounded great...Bestie came across excellent live....cool that the headliner allowed plenty of stage space and ample lighting
I think this is the first fancam I've ever seen of Band-Maid where the entire crowd is seated and unmoving. Even during "Moratorium", which deserves a standing ovation throughout the entire duration of the song. At least Miku can be her own fan -- I saw her hopping just before the breakdown. :-)
Exactly what I thought! And I don't buy the "they were there for Incubus" explanation. If I came to hear a B-tier band but an A-tier opened the show, I'd get excited about it. :-)
MISA!!! MISA!!!MISA!!! 🥃🥃🥃 This is Awesome!!!! The Maids didn't do this colab to be Superstars. They did it because it was fun. Fun is what B-M is all about. On and off stage. Never forget that.
Ahora comprendo! Fueron teloneros Band Maid! Yo dije que esto ! Nadie parece disfrutar la presentación! Iban a ver a incubus ! Ya me estaba dando hasta pena!
That was me about a year ago at pointfest. Bought the ticket for incubus. Looked up band-maid for the first time about a week before the show. Glad I did. So happy I showed up early and pushed all the way to the front for band-maid.
Obviously the vast majority of them had never heard BAND-MAID or even heard OF BAND-MAID. BUT it IS a rock concert, after all, and the MAIDS rock as hard as anyone. The audience presumably paid to be there and be entertained, and they are entitled to experience the music anyway they want. But I’ve never seen a rock concert audience that comatose. It was weird. The MAIDS always bring the energy but the crowd is at least half of the experience. Why go to a rock concert just to sit on your hands?
I have been to many concerts in Japan, and as an American, I was like, wow, they don't respond the same way as this old Detroit Rocker does. But hey, I always let loose at a Band-Maid Concert. Love their music.
I'm used to a lot of bands I like being let down by the singer's live performance. This is never the case with Band-Maid. I'm constantly astounded by Saiki's live vocals. The rest of the band are always fantastic from what I've seen, I'm just so impressed by this level of consistency from a vocalist.
@@bruceveary1758 Exactly. It'd be a fitting way to go Bruce, i don't want to be remembered as the guy who collapsed on a load of tomatoes in the fruit & veg aisle of a store....🤔 Hopefully i could at least stagger over to the bananas :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 I really hesitated to respond to your reply, as you had it structured so perfectly, but...since "dying you" would be at the concert (in our scenario), shouldn't you be crawling up to Kanami, only to die at her feet, your last gaze being into her eyes? You're a dying man, being allowed his last wish...Saiki would have to forgive you (and tell Security to go to hell).
Crushed it!! (as always ofc!!). Bestie sounded great and that was fun having Mikey on the stage with them. Thanks for sharing the video, Peter!! 😃🎸🥁🎤🎹🎼✌🏼
This was so much fun to watch. Thank you for sharing Peter. BTW - there were chairs, so people sat down. Band Maid Fans are used to not having chairs. No big deal…
No offense to this culture but this makes me appreciate the energy of the fans in the u.s. shows. It adds to the experience and I can only imagine the maids feed off it. I do hope one day to experience a show in Japan but i do like the combination of the music and a respectful crowd that still is super in to it.
The energy yesterday was off the charts... for Incubus. Band maid was just the opening act, people were still walking in and I am guessing the fan base for Incubus isn't the same demographic for band maid. Everyone liked them, but we were there for incubus.
Please don't speak badly of those seated. Different culture, different experiences and just because they weren't as active as you might have been in your part of the world, does not mean the audience didn't enjoy the show in their own way.
This was a prog crowd totally unprepared to be pillaged by the cute maids. I think they conquered the room. Prog fans sit and concentrate on their feelings. 😅
I get that it's a different culture and they are there to see Incubus, but I would so be the random dude standing in the middle of the screen probably pissing off a lot of people. I don't think it would be physically possible for me to sit.
My only criticism of this set (besides being criminally short) is that they didn't play "Glory." That song is totally in the style of Incubus. It's the "Pardon Me" of Band-Maid songs.
In my opinion, they should start with “On set” or “From now on”. I think it would immediately grab the audience by the throat and never let go. I believe that these two songs are very close to the type of music that Incubus fans like. Well, it's just my opinion.
An Instrumental for a sub 30 minute set isn't that great of an idea. This was only six songs and one of them was brand new and very special. Take out Bestie, that leaves five songs. If you consider Choose Me as arguably the most recognizable due to both Kate and Peacemaker that leaves four songs. Which do you boot out for an instrumental? Moratorium, Daydreaming, Manners or Domination?
@@sjnix7044 As I am a big admirer of Incubus, perhaps I can express myself from that point of view, instead of speaking as a BM fan. I don't believe that the Incubus fan has watched Kate, maybe Peacemaker, I think it's the kind of thing that the Otaku or comic book audience enjoys more. Myself, if it weren't for Band-Maid I wouldn't have seen either one. Speaking now as a BM fan, I would put "For now on" and take out "Domination", unless the version of "Domination" was the one they played on Line Cube. In that case, I would take "Daydreaming". I would put "Choose me" as the last song. What do you think?
@@ricardo__jr I'm aware of Incubus but nowhere near a fan. I know the hits and that is about it. You would know better than me in that regard but I wouldn't think the average Incubus fan would be into instrumentals. If they were opening for Dream Theater then absolutely. As purely a thought exercise, and considering the crowd, I'd probably swap out Moratorium because it was the heaviest song in the set. Also, Moratorium shines when the crowd knows the song because it is a highly interactive song. It falls kinda flat without the Whoa Ohs. 🤷♂
