This was fun. Seriously sweet. All other bands, BAND-MAID WILL DEFEAT!! wtf LOL Hey, enjoy the video, here's a little information that references some special content within. Ryan Mear Reacts - Discord / discord Ryan Mear - Patreon
I wait with patience and anticipation for *_Puzzle_* Live, just to see you react to continues guitar riffing and the solo. Actually do the acoustic version first, just so you can see how a simple song becomes a monster!!! _(blibili)_
After B-M appear in the Netflix film "Kate" Sept 10th, Akane is starring in her own horror film on Netflix called "A Japanese gorilla in London"....probably :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 I will most likely wait for someone to give me the timestamps, and then fast forward to the Band-Maid stuff. Gotta optimize my Band-Maid consumption.
The video is a tribute to Freddy Mercury and Queen! At the very end, when the words "You Are A Legend" come up, they are directed at Freddy, so cool! Band Maid doing Band Maid things, that's the total story for them! Love Miku's Pearl Front Zemaitus guitar, so beautiful! As always, great song!
@@RyanMear I don't think the song itself is about Queen, just the video. Several direct shots copied from the Queen movie, Saiki's profile shots, ect. Not sure where the Misa laying on the floor came from, but that is about the coolest bass player shot, ever!
One of the many many many many things I love about Band-Maid is that they never play any 2 verses exactly the same. They always switch it up which is refreshing. And you're bang on point, you can't predict what they will do in the rest of the song. Absolutely brilliant writing.
It crazy they are able to pack so much in just 4mins while at the same time leaving you wanting more. Its a rare thing indeed from an equally rare band!
They're ability to play what ever the f they want! Coffee shot up my nose, this group if artists have single handed given me my music listening/loving life back to me, they are my favorite band of all time now surpassing the great legends.
Never in my life have I heard a band where every track is completely different from the last one you heard and they are definitely not a radio band where they play it straight and boring(you can usually count on there being quality change ups), yet has an unmistakable sound that they own and is easily recognizable(to me). I am so tuned in to the B-M sound, it is hard to miss it. Bubble is another top MV of theirs for me, right up with Manners, and usually I am all about the live stuff, but those are so well done I just fucking love them.
We talked last time about how Cross barely hits my Band-Maid radar... well, Bubble is a Top 10 or Top 5 song depending on the day for me. This song is... and hesitate to say this for fear of being misconstrued... so sexy and sultry... on so many levels. Let's start with Akane - that disco/jazz/jungle beat she's throwing down? SULTRY... then she throws in the double kicks to spice things up... SEXY. Miku - sultry rhythm playing to provide a canvas for MISA, Kanami, and Saiki to paint all over. Her backup vocals we'll get to that in a minute. Kanami - SEXY AS FUCK riffs. EVERY. WHERE. in this song. I mean, c'mon! :) Now... we're getting to my standouts... Saiki - this was the most sultry, sensual, gorgeous vocals from her I had heard from her. She had never really sounded like this in any song before and it blew me away... then came the MV... and holy shitballs Batman... that dancing and the little wink? S.E.X.Y. (in a most respectful way). I mean, how does one be sexy in a way that isn't sexually suggestive? Enter Saiki in the Bubble MV! MISA - Dude... JUST. LISTEN. TO. THAT. BASS. LINE. Yeah that one... wait, fuck... no this one... wait shit fuck... I mean THIS one! Then... the MV came out... and wow.... those 2 quick scenes with her playing on the floor.... again.. how to be sexy while being 1000% tasteful and at the time NOT sexualizing. Crazy, right? This song just really shows how diverse and DEEP the songwriting and performing is in this band. I mean, who does an incredibly lush and catchy mid-temp jazz/disco/dance song.... then goes and does something like seriously prog rock/metal? Fuck you, Band-Maid does.
I adore to see when somebody realizes all the care they put in just one song. This is a special band, I've seen a ton of average bands, some can even make a good hit or two with far less elements to them while Band-Maid does it every fucking time putting all they got on each creation they make. It's food for the soul/mind/ conscious or whatever you wanna call it. People need to pay more attention to them and their top class work imho
I have been following Band-Maid since 2014, but since 2016 when Kanami started to write/compose their music they have taken off. To me as a musician Kanami writes some of the most progressive rock music in the world today. Her time changes in her songs are unbelievable. Reminds me of the early time changes in Genesis music. You won't find any better written songs anywhere. Keep Rocking 🤘🤘
Their sound engineers are REALLY FREAKINKG GOOD! Doesn´t matter if it´s for the album or live stuff, on the liveshows sometimes they needed one song to adjust it, but after that it was FIRE! Band-Maid is just SO refreshing, that´s the reason i love them so much... Can´t think of any band that made me this happy and enjoy them so much. The music is like a uplifting medicine if you are going through a tough day and it will keep you in a good mood no matter what! I love this band and i adore Kanami, because she is one of the best songwriters in our generation! IMO Greetings from Germany
The Band-Maid "bubble" is expanding across the land... and that's a good thing because, other than incredible music, to me they represent decency and joy -- things the world can always use more of. Thx, Ryan!
I don't know if the mean to be unpredictable, but they sure are, one song they can be as hard any rock can be and one song they can be Jazz or Blues or Pop, but they still sounds like Band Maid,
They've got me hooked with the way they compose their songs too man. Brilliant. Then there's their musical skills . Brilliant. Then, of course, there's their good looks. Brilliant. Also the best new music I've heard in the last couple of decades.
I'm told Bubble is full of Queen references but whether true or not is shows again how clever Kanami's songwriting is, how good the band is at developing her ideas and what a superb voice Saiki has developed. It looks so easy but clearly there is a huge amount of work behind every performance. I love guitars and have a few and Kanami is by far my favourite guitarist . Her technique is not perfect ( 99.999999% rather than 100 ) but her solos are perfectly matched to the song, her work rate is astounding and she plays with soul. God bless her.
I think the video is a reference to the movie about queen, but the song is not. Kanami is absolutely brilliant and under sells herself to, as you pointed out, too serve the song. This is a great band all around!
When I was a kid, Buddy Rich used to be on Johnny Carson occasionally. There is no doubt that, technically, he was a great drummer. However, he was also a jerk and very egocentric and his music was always about him. When I listen to Band-Maid, I hear technically great musicians who only do what they think would make the song better.
I was having a mildly stressful day, and then BAND-MAID came on Pandora at work. A co-worker asked who it was. I went on a 15 minute tirade about how great they are (I think I foamed at the mouth...but just a little). He probably thinks I'm nuts (that's okay...I am), but I'll bet my house we'll have a new MAIDIAC joining the ranks very, very soon. As always Ryan. Thanks for making the day a bit brighter!
haha everyone who has been within earshot of me for more than 10 minutes over the past 17 months has heard about these girls. And a few (the ones with, yknow, TASTE) have become superfans, for sure.
Got Band Maid Prime for a year subscription. Really enjoyed the 2017 Wintersun concert they have on there. Has all the great performances that were removed from youtube. Also they upload covers of each member almost daily
This song was used as a theme song for a Japanese TV show called Perfect Crime. When the show's producer came to them looking for a song, Kanami was already working on Bubble and told them it would be perfect for the show.
What more can I say that hasn't already been said x times. Just great. Legends in the making, paying respect to another legend with this video. 😎 Like some others, I also think that it's time to solve the 'puzzle' or just spend the time with some 'daydreaming'. :) 【 'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!' - Band-Maid 】🕊️
This is how all maniacs feel everytime we listen to any band maid song so you are just like us it's a wonderful journey and as of right now there is no light at the end of this tunnel because we never wan it to end
Yo Ryan, enjoyed the reaction. Bubble is an under-rated song in their catalog. It is a fun song to listen to, but so many of their songs are fun to listen to. I seen puzzle mentioned in the pinned...you could make the live "normal" version and the live "acoustic" version a double reaction, assuming you can get hold of both. Chat soon.
There is nobody out now that can touch them did you notice most of the Bass lines are are all high up the neck the drumming is like a continues solo and the riff unique almost like jazzrock if thats even a thing .
The part at the end of the solo is awesome, different, lovely and beautiful. I love this song, and I love this band. I become a bassist becouse MISA inspired me. Good video and good reaction Ryan. Send you Hughs from Colombia
Watching *BAND-MAID* reactions for quite some time now and *DOMINATION* and *FREEDOM* seems the most popular and the thing is the music never gets stale. Now a days you got Pop, Rap and Metal but give me a classic guitar riff a sweet drum fill and *MISA* and I will be happy camper. 😊
Damn good song. Damn good band. Dont think I saw anyone post this yet but this is what Saiki says in the slowed down part: Hey, Listen. After everything, You only see the surface. They are missing Something very important. You should find out the truth With your own eyes. What do you want? It depends on you. Also just mentioning the MV is a tribute to Bohemian Rhapsody/Freddy Mercury. Several of the scenes in this MV are recreations of parts of the movie.
I discovered this band on your channel. Holy shit this song gave me massive goosebumps. The way everything comes together and climaxes near the end for a final chorus is just perfection. One of my favourites so far from what I saw.
Another classic from Kanami and The Maids. She really knows how to compose great material and it’s that structure that you mention that makes their music so intriguing. So interesting. So catchy. From the catchy opening alternating guitar riffs (love that shell finish Zemaitis classic) through to climatic solo,it’s another brilliant song. Conqueror had some great diverse material. That’s not surprising though. It’s 1 of their trademarks.
I love watching your reactions because it's like looking into a mirror in the past. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and experience Band-Maid for the first time again but this, what you do, is the next best thing! You should check their ballads as well (not for reactions, just for your personal edification) because, as usual, they are not what they seem. "Anemone" is a good first one.
If someone asked me. What is Band-Maid really about? I would say go listen to YOLO. As a huge fan of Band-Maid and i love all their songs. YOLO kinda stands out for me. Starts off kinda plain "As anything they do is plain". When they hit the second verse OMG. the band goes nuts. Its a must for any fan of their music.
Aaaand we are back with more Band Maid. They just don't have bad songs, man. I LOVE your reactions! Sooo, judging from your other videos and comments, it seems like 'Puzzle' live is on the horizon. Can't wait! Especially because it's from their Zepp Tokyo concert, which has probably THE best sound engineering and quality I ever heard in live music. I have no idea if anyone else recommended these, but 'Take me higher' live and 'Don't you tell me' live from their Zepp Tokyo concerts are a must watch. I HIGHLY recommend them (the only songs with guitar battles between Misa and Kanami with some Akane sprinkled in...) Even though I wouldn't exactly call them "battles".. more of a conversation between their guitars. They're sadly not on RU-vid anymore, but hey, you found 'Moratorium' and 'Puzzle'. No rush though, there's so much more of them and they WILL continue to surprise you, it's ridiculous. Can't wait for the next one, see ya soon!
Ryan! I could not help it! I had to watch and listen to that reaction of yours again! I mentioned the rare Kanami's high heels last time, but have you noticed that mocking smirk on Miku's face? Someone is going to suffer slow death no end (wonder who? LOL). That is a song that brings me back into the 70's (I am so old, lol), but with a difference. Have to listen to it again! I enjoyed your facial expressions notwithstanding the colorful language! Lol again Mata ne/又ね/See ya! R-G M
This is one of my favorite riffs. Such a earworm. I guess if they do have a formula they will often (not always) bring back the intro riff at the end of the song but it is interesting to see how they get back into the riff.
Why is Misa laying on the floor? This was different, ohohohoh, what's next? No seriously I'm enjoying your reaction channel, GJ, thanks. Love BAND-MAID, listen to there music every night 🔥💯%🤘
Like the best piece of chocolate cake you ever had. So you continually sneak another bite. Then another. And another. Until all you crave is that chocolate cake. Band Maid folks.
Thank you for listening to my recommended "Bubble". I'm sure you'll be as impressed as I am. The other two recommended songs, "Day Dreaming (MV)" and "Take me higher (LIVE)", are a bit old, but I think they will impress you differently. Of course, "Puzzle (LIVE)" and "Puzzle (acoustic)" recommended by many others are also wonderful.
Another one of those Bandmaid songs that gets better with each subsequent listen. Not crazy about it upon first listen, but I'm appreciating it more and more. Once again, I enjoy your format. You never speak while the song is playing. Pause and talk. Keep up the good work. Cheers
One of the catchiest riffs in the history of rock! My fave Band Maid song! ♥ I love how Kanami's solo blends with Saiki's singing in the middle of the song. Plus MISA just chillin on the carpet! ♥ Please check out the following Band Maid songs: Turn Me On, Dice, No God & The Dragon Cries
Band Maid's sound is always evolving especially as Miku improves on the Guitar. An easy way to tell when a video is from is Miku's guitar as first it was black with a white pick guard then this guitar then the current metal one with inscriptions. Also very early on Akane had a much smaller drum kit but she was still a beast on it. I believe their song 'Manners' is about their journey.
I like this song the best among their songs. The riff is kind of oriental (but there is no particular area for the riff..). And the song includes Japanese traditional "shouts" little bit like a folk song . Tradition is a treasure house ...always....))
Actually thay have somekind of pattern and style in their music, but they can throw a lot of surprised element and its unpredictable because it can be anything, and furthermore they're master of transition
Love all their stuff. Puzzle still my favorite song. Puzzle live is incredible Kanami has such an incredible solo. Turn me on, Blooming great songs. The Dragon cries, is great sung in english, as it was done in NYC. Love Kanami as both guitarist and composer. Blooming you may really like, Kanamis solos, has an out to solo as well, are beautiful. Lovebites songs you may like: Frozen Seranade, Dystopic Symphony both incredible songs, breakdowns, change ups. Both are album only on YT. Break the wall, has an epic break down, with contrasting guitar solos, Miyako pulls out the Les Paul.
PUZZLE, BLOOMING, are great songs to try next. Also if you want to hear more without reacting to them all. Go to Spotify and listen to FREEZER. ARCADIA GIRL, and DROP OF A HAT. They will be on your play list in your car before your done listening to them. All of their albums are on Spotify - not sure of any other music streamers.
The chorus of this song would be a perfect fit for a roadmovie. I can see the lead going in an old Mustang with the cab (is that the right word? Roof?) down driving on a never ending straight road in the Australian back-country/American grain belt in the sun.
I feel exactly the same way about them as you do. Just a collection of five great artists who then come together and “Elevate from the norm” as The Professor wrote 41 year’s ago. They are original and organic but have studied the greats and put it all to use to create such great music. Like the great bands, it seems so easy for them and that’s when you know they’ve “got it”.
Yolo is one of my favorite tracks. I’m sure you will like it too. And you have gone too long without hearing the ballads Wonderland (live) and Daydreaming (MV first, live next).
4:40 totally agree. Its been said so many times. They could literally make 4 or 5 other songs off of the ideas they put into just one song, but they are Band-Maid and they are better than that. And Kanami knows she can come up with more. Also note of interest, right now, Kanami's writing pace is she sends at least 1 demo every week. So....yeah.
One of my favorite BM songs. And not gonna lie, my favorite part of the music video is MISA chillin on the floor with her bass. It's a great shot, lol.
