Eighties rock intro riff, seventies disco beat chorus. Crowd engagement off the charts and they’re goofing off with each other the whole time. Quintessential Band Maid ❤
The Maids performing one of their (two) most performed songs: Freedom and Real Existence. But the Maids in this MV are pure perfection, aren't they? I mean, what can you fault? And those faces... their attitude... their music... their playing... their story... and their joy! Band-Maid is a world treasure, imo! Thanks Rick, for bringing the world's best hard rock band to your viewers!

I believe Kanami is watching Miku as she forgot her lines in the last concert, so she is just playing around with her having fun. I do love how they all seem to have fun with each other and it shows and makes the live shows great.
Did you notice how seamlessly that Akane and MISA transitioned from the drum solo right back into the song with no pause? That is talent and professionalism.
That was one of the first things I really took notice of when I first heard Freedom. The way the Kanami composed the structure of the song with the solo pretty much built in, the transition at the end of the drum solo really caught my ear for its smoothness.
The joy on each Maid's face while they are playing "Freedom", shows how much they love what they are doing and how much they are giving the audience of themselves. That's what makes their live concerts so damned enjoyable!!!!!
I believe I read somewhere Kanami came over and stared at Miku because she'd messed up on her part in an earlier performance and was giving her a bit of a razzing. When the various members get around Akane they're making faces and trying to make her lose the beat, of course it never works.
I really enjoy your reactions ! When you mentioned Kanami coming over to Miku's side during the song, you have to understand that when Miku was building what has become Band Maid, Kanami was her first recruit. If I recall properly, Miku saw Kanami on her YT channel and contacted her, the first successful step in Band Maid becoming the global sensation that they are. And it got even more serendipitous, because Kanami knew and had worked with both Misa and Akane in the past and brought them on board. Saiki was a result of Miku feeling she didn't have a true rock voice and decided to audition other singers. And then Miku decided she wanted to learn the guitar and Kanami became her sensei, with then result being Miku becoming an excellent guitarist in her own right. So many different things came together to give us the best rock band on the planet. I know you are doing a lot of Band Maid, but there is a true wealth is musical talent in Japan, and in South Korea as well. Going by your comments, I have a band that you will probably love. Their name is Glim Spanky, and they are basically a duo that use session musicians pretty exclusively. They are Remi Matsuo (guitar and vocals) and Hiroki Kamemoto (lead guitar and backup vocals). Their influences were The Beatles, Yardbirds and Zombies and do some of the best blues rock and almost-pyschedelic rock I've heard in a long time. A good first song to react to is "Circle of Time" from their 2020 RU-vid Live Concert, it is just fantastic. I'll warn you in advance that Remi's voice is very distinctive, like Janis Joplin with a little Grace Slick and Susanna Hoffs mixed in. And Hiroki is a guitarist of immense talent and reminds me of a young Jimmy Page. Another great video is the live studio recording of "Breaking Down Blues", which is comparable to the blues rock of the early Blood, Sweat and Tears prior to David Clayton-Thomas joining. They have been together since 2006 after being in high school together. You will not be disappointed.
