The whole band has input, but it is Kanami's music composition skills and Miku's lyrics and vocal arrangements that are the genius behind Band-Maid's sound.
MISA is playing her new Black Cloud Private Reserve Bass. It has a very nice tone. She has just got a gloss black Fender, Rock Bass, fretless bass. Can’t wait to hear that on stage :) The ladies are in their late 20s.
Wow! I guess we know what she is up to then during the isolation! Fretless is something else. You are not alone to now waiting for a live performance with that!
Charles Velten on the Band Maid fan site there is a video of MISA playing her new red base. In the video it is referred to as the described in my comment. Is that the same thing? My knowledge of the base is limited to what I read on MISA’s vlog.
Misa's runs in this are FIRE. Not as prominent as usual but she's still working her arse off in the background. Akane, of course, stole the show here 🍌🦍🥁💥 Edited to add: The transition to Kanami's solo was absolute perfection.

Akane (Drummer) the eldest, 30 yo. Miku (rythim/bc.vocal) and Kanami (lead guitar) are around 28-29 yo. MISA (bassist) is 27 yo. And the youngest, Saiki (Lead vocal) is 26 yo~
I can understand you want LONGER. I guess they know that. "Freedom" was 6th song of the concert. From "Rin-ne" to this "Freedom" they played 6 hard and up-tempo songs without a rest. That's their responce, may be. Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, Backing vocal, Lyricist, Band founder (Oct 21, 1991) Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Composer, Main arranger, Backing vocal (Sept 28, 1991) Akane Hirose - Drums, Backing vocal (Dec 14, 1990) MISA - Bass (Oct 15, 1992) Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocal (Feb 8, 1994)
YES.. 7.1 surround is like being there too. If they would re-issue bluray with English subtitles (song translation + Miku's words) I will buy it again.
I have changed all my phone, tablet, and computer backgrounds and wallpaper to Band-Maid photos. Does that make be a sick person? Working on new ringtones now...
I took Akane´s drum solo from Bochum last year as my ringtone, and it works really good, people around me are wondering about something weird coming out of my jacket. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8Nq_reJB4SY.html ...always a pleasure to watch.
Maybe our wish for her first drum solo during a concert in Bochum last year and the tremendous applause she got after she had fulfilled our dream, encouraged her to do more solos with the conviction, that the audiences would love it...of course they love it!
Yes Miku sings. She was supposed to be the lead singer but didn't think her voice was strong enough to sing the types of songs she wanted the band to play so that's why they recruited Saiki. So she took on the roll of back up singer and learned to play rhythm guitar (Kanami being her teacher). There used to be a version of this song from their Zepp concert on YT. In it Miku sings at the same spot in beginning as this one but then towards the end Saiki goes a bit into audience to sing and gets kidnapped by that audience so Miku had to take over lead vocals to finish it up. Though that one didn't have the bad ass Akane drum solo in it, like this one.
Love your BM reactions. Funny though how you just realized how much Miku sings, and not the first time she’s sang a lead vocal part 🤣. The vocal interplay between lead singer Saiki and Miku adds a tremendous dynamic that few bands have. Adds a unique spice to BM 🤘🏼😎
It’s nice that you check out and react to the music but you’re missing the most important aspect, these girls are enjoying being on stage, if you go back you’ll see MISA and Saiki making faces at Akane, Akane in return makes a funny face as well! It Kanami approaching Miku who seems out of touch for the moment before a Kanami brought her back with a look like come on girl be happy we’re gonna play Budokan next year
MISA!!!! MISA!!!! MISA!!!!!! Welcome back. I'm glad you finally got to this song. I know you'll love it. Akane goes off on the drums. Misa is our Dark Queen and she is the oldest in her late 20's
These women do more in 3 1/2 minutes than most band do in an hour! Perfect dynamic shifts, lots of little random changes to keep things interesting. The don't get overly self-indulgent by adding sections that detract from the meat and potatoes of the song. They get in, get out, move on to the next song. I'm a huge Progressive Rock nerd, so I love long, musically exploratory songs. But there's something to be said for the concise, efficiency of Kanami's writing style, where to add more parts would actually diminish its emotional impact.
MISA has a beautiful voice I finally seen her singing backup on stage. and Akane can sing too ! I've seen them all sing harmony together on a short clip saying America. they sound great together🎵🎶💥
In the beginning of the song, Saiki is saying Shibuya!! Come get some!!(make more noise). Even if you watch the whole concert, you'll still want more😁👍
That´s the reason, why I took part in the lottery for Nippon Budokan next February. I hope and pray, that everything goes well to have more than a DVD at home.
Haha - the big guy fell in love. Beautiful to see. I've been binge watching Japanese rock since discovering it last week. So far I think Band Maid are the best live, Wagakki Band are the most interesting but I fell in love with Lovebites. Really appreciate your reactions. More J rock please.
How old? Not so hard to answer: MIku = 29 Akane = 30 Saiki = 26 Kanami = 28/29 Misa = 28-30 Kanami and Misa are the hardest to guess, though I am 75% sure Kanami is 29 but she looks so much younger. The top 3 are 100% certain because we know exactly when Miku and Saiki are born and Akane can be determined by the last birthday pictures posted. I do have a suggestion, but it is not on the official channel and seemingly not one reactor reacts to non-official posted content.
