BAND MAID--From Now On......(mv)...the musicianship! PRO GUITARIST REACTS All Girl Japanese Rock Band • BAND-MAID / from now o... @BANDMAID #bandmaid #bandmaidreaction #cosmicmiko
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this song performed live twice with this MV quality in Tokyo and dropped my jaw twice 😲. I believe so did many of American audience who witnessed it in their 2022 / 2023 tours. This song has been normally played in the middle of the setlist to give Saiki, lead vocalist, some break. They played this song, however, as opening at several festivals and in Guns N' Roses concert in Japan as support to the legendary band. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who knew nothing about the girls in maid outfit on the stage. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄
Yo! This is the music video RU-vid randomly fed to me that introduced me to Band-Maid. Just incredible composing and playing. Highly recommend doing a live music video by Band-Maid in the future as they really shine live. Either Play or No God are great choices although any of their live music videos are great. Another choice (although not live) is one of my go to for showing off Kanami’s guitar playing: Blooming.
@@michaelgoyettemusicAnother proof that yt is good place to promote band. My first was reaction by a ginger singer :). Blooming, Puzzle and Sayonakidory is my top 3. Than Alone, Manners, instrumentals and and I still seeks revenge.
Many of us recently saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. And the DB’s matched the BPM’s! So FROM NOW ON Band-Maid will grow in popularity even faster as the 2023 BAND-MAID 10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR continues in the US (and Mexico!): DATE CITY VENUE Aug 3 Chicago Lollapalooza After Show @ Park West Aug 4 Chicago, IL Lollapalooza Aug 6 Minneapolis, MN Varsity Theater Aug 8 Denver, CO Summit Aug 9 Salt Lake City, UT THE Depot Aug 11 Portland, OR Crystal Ballroom Aug 12 Spokane, WA Bing Crosby Theater Aug 14 Sacramento, CA Ace of Spades Aug 15 Anaheim, CA House of Blues Anaheim Aug 18 Mexico City, MX PABELLÓN OESTE In addition their ongoing Japan tour continues with 17 more concerts, AND they’re writing and recording for their new album. Their 10th Anniversary Tour concludes at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26, 2023! The Maids are one of the hardest working super groups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids... and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE! Thx, Michael!
MISA is wearing what could be called a Split Skirt, as such used by women for riding bicycles and horses here in the west. There is a particular Japanese style of clothing they are based on but I can never remember the name. And Kanami Lead guitar plays through a Mesa Boogie Triple Rect, Miku rhythm guitarist plays through a EVH 5150, and MISA Bassist plays through Orange. Up until recently. MISA has been using Aguilar and Ampeg, while Kanami and Miku have been using Bogner amp head going into their regular cabinets but they have all added a DI interface as well. And Akane is playing her Star Bubinga Tama kit with Zildjian cymbals and her Ludwig brass snare.
The trousers (pants) worn by Misa are a modern version of Hakama, I think originally there were 2 versions, one as you said being a split skirt and the other wide leg trousers.
Thanks for checking back on Band-Maid. I'm a 60+ year old guy into progressive rock, psychedelic stuff and hard core bebop jazz. I'd given up hard rock a long time ago, but then I found this incredible band. They can and do float around between musical genres even in the same song - their genre is "Band-Maid." There is always ear candy, as you say, with this band because you'll always hear more every time you listen to a song. They have this ability to attract musicians and the casual fan alike. Lots of catchy choruses that reside in songs that often have unusual structures, very complex guitar and bass lines going on underneath especially verses (with different stuff in every verse), and every two seconds they're throwing you an unexpected bone. Plus their music is generally very uplifting as well as their lyrics. They were my salvation in fact during a pretty rough two year stretch. I'd recommend basically anything by them, but the usual recommendation is the live version of Domination (make sure it's the live), and I'd throw in Puzzle Live for more guitar escapades, Manners MV for a hard groove song that's just really cool, Giovanni for some crazy proggy stuff (although no video) and if you're in the mood for a good old fashioned beautiful power ballad go with Daydreaming MV, but honestly they have over 140 songs over ten years and NONE OF THEM are songs I'd skip when listening to an album. It takes at least ten songs to "get" them though - but it's worth it!
That's MISA's "Assassin Maid" outfit.....yeah it's a thing.....love her Chris Squire interlude. You could stand a bit more volume on the video and glad you use the "back" button. Can't take your eyes and ears off these girls for a second.
Maids played here in Philly. They did this song together with Onset, another incredible instrumental. Was so incredible live. Right in front of Kanami, lead guitarist, composer. Kanami doesn’t always have long solos, but every note she plays is so impactful.
Thank you for reacting to Band-Maid. The songwriter/lead guitarist, Kanami, started her music career with classical piano, so she sometimes adds its element to her songs, which sounds so unique and new to the old hard rock fan like me. However, there are so many reactors, even musicians, doesn't realise how unique it is, unfortunately. As you mentioned, it's "interesting" and "ear candy", you noticed that, right?
Good job!. The number of YT reactors that are musicians that I have seen jump on their instrument as soon as they listen to the song. It is the effect of this band. It makes you love music. Thank you!
I got the impression that you appreciate good bass playing. So i came here to offer a list of BAND-MAID songs where the bass takes centre stage. But, then i remembered that's every BAND-MAID song. Influencer, No God, Dice, Blooming.
Yo! I freaking love this song! I'm sitting here with a big goofy grin on my face every single time I hear it, lol. Great reaction and see ya next time!
Their Lollapalooza set was streamed on Hulu. The hour long set can be found on yt at Instrumental Maid's page with pro sound. While it may be too long for a reaction video, it suis worth watching.
Some request Mr: Blooming MV, Warning MV, Without holding back MV, Manners MV Rinne MV Non fiction days MV Yolo MV Secret My lips MV Choose Me MV live video... well all 😉 but... Puzzle, You, Onset, Domination, Play, Real existence, Don't you tell me, Take me higher....
Here is their most famous instrumental maybe - because it was their first and the fans all know and love it- it was never on an album but often played at concerts to give the singers voice a rest. onset - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mVrN-j_Uc0U.html From now on is more technical sure but Onset is still a fantastic instrumental/jam session. p.s It also has a very clear shot of Misa the bassist tucking her pick :) and showing how she slaps with the pick in hand.
Yo, eh? Loved this reaction! You went straight from their very first to one of their most recent! Let me say that all you have left is what’s in between: 10 years and 10 albums/EPs worth of incredibly versatile musical magic. Band-Maid definitely appeals to the casual listeners; however, for us music guys? I haven’t heard a musical artist more interesting and surprising as these five little Japanese Maids. Before you move on to other bands, please consider seeing what Band-Maid does in front of an audience. The interaction between themselves and the fans has been a key to their worldwide success. The most legendary performance is “Domination,” official live video. The mix, admittedly, could’ve been better; however, this is the video that gets recommended to new listeners as “the” example of what makes them special. Thanks for your reaction and support of this magnificent band! 🎉
Other bands from Japan that you don't seem to have reacted to are Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie and Wagakki Band. The first 3 are heavier and the last is a combination of traditional Japanese and modern rock.
Band Maid are a phenomenal hard rock, 1 of the 3 holy trinity of Japan. The other 2 being Lovebites (my favorite), and Nemophila. Teaser: Lovebites has 2 lead guitarists, Midori & Miyako (they are insane). You should react to Hammer of Wrath live which premiered today. Old song but first live footage since 2021 and features new bassist phenom 21yr old Fami. They killed it today with Hammer of Wrath. 🤘
Yo; thanks for the ear candy! Speaking of ear candy, I wonder if you've heard of this cover version of Roundabout from enunc8r: Roundabout (Yes) - Acoustic Guitar Instrumental Would be great to hear your reaction to it. I've already messed around with a bit on guitar, so I can really appreciate the arrangement.
So now you have done a couple of Band Maid tracks but as a guitarist then for Japanese metal you really should check out the band Lovebites. Now there are a couple of serious serious guitar players. indeed 5 serious serious musicians. ‘Holy War’ Live in Tokyo is the place to start.
I really like this bass solo. They could easily have gone for a shreddy solo, but instead Misa wrote a melodic almost emotional solo. Most musicians wouldn't go that route. If you want to check out more Japanese bands I'd say Gacharic Spin is always a great recommendation. I'd probably start with either Tamashii or Redline and work my way forward. Tamashii ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Jt7-GGRa3nc.html (as a bonus, they've put out a video of Tamashii played on toys, because of course they did) Redline ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9r6YeSatOac.html
Another Japanese Bands all female LOVEBITES new songs Judgement Day, Stand And Deliver.. NEMOPHILA new songs Night Flight, Seize The Fate, Rise, Revive, Dissension Raitei.. HANABIE new We Love Sweets, Be The Gal, Pardon Me, TOUSOU(Run Away), NEET GAME ASTERISM songs Dawn, Rising Moon, Church, Blaze...
Maybe it's time to meet 5 beautiful ladies in high heels and dresses playing classic heavy metal? For starters, I recommend the song Break the Wall from their earlier albums. Boasting over 70 hit singles, they won Best New Metal Band at the Metal Hammer Awards in 2018. The girls play heavy, thrash, power and prog metal, they also have some beautiful ballads - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5Pc0XK0lNmU.html
I remind you about Lovebites, now it's time for Frozen Serenade live ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ae8pQVu-RN8.html or/and Empty day dreams ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lXh_uMM94jU.html
Then listen to some LOVEBITES and you'll get METAL. Here's a live video that only dropped today. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pHrWRT0Jeac.html&ab_channel=LOVEBITES
