I'm a pretty harsh critic, and I am stunned. I just paused after the first drum fill. I had to catch my breath. This isn't my 'usual' music style, but now I have to reconsider! 😀 Just a tad different than Pentatonix and Voctave, right?? Your reactions are great, and the diversity of your reactions is impressive! Okay, I had to pause again at 4:00 (your timestamp) to catch my breath. How do they DO that?? I almost passed out from LISTENING! They're up on that stage just tearing it UP. I am shocked and impressed. I just added a folder for Band Maid in my favorites (you already had one).

In this case, it not only shows the talent level of the musicians, gives a singer a break, but also the song writing ability. A good instrumental has a flow / story that takes the listener on a ride. Not just random and repeated shredding (not that I don't like those as well, hehe), this song is always changing which makes it interesting to listen to over and over.

Glad you liked BM's newest instrumental. It is a bit on the heavier side and I love it. However (imo) it is not even their best. "Onset" is epic and the way Kanami makes her PRS sing usually brings a tear to my eye.

there are lots of great musicians that can shred just as well or better, but what Band Maid is showing us here is just how excellent they really are in their ability to play in the service of the song ... these girls are great, but if they played like this on every song it would not make the song better ... the most important part of making great music is learning when not to play and where to use silence ... this instrumental shows off just how well the band is at making a song the best it can be by 'not playing'!

Aside from their extreme talent as musicians, which is obvious their ability as composers and songwriters is over the top. Beethoven and the other masters would be proud.

Thank you. i like your reaction When I listen to this song, I feel like this. Akane plowed the fields, Misa nourished them, Miku prayed and watered them, and Kanami made the flowers bloom.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this song performed flawlessly in B-M's pre-US concert in Tokyo and dropped my jaw 😲. I believe so did many of American audience at 12 venues. This song has been normally played in the middle of the setlist to give Saiki some break. Most of the audience at B-M's one-man (or one-person) concerts had, of course, already known their skills and talents. They played this song, however, as opening at two festivals (Summer Sonic, Japan and Aftershock, USA) and in Guns N' Roses concert in Japan as support to the legendary band. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who knew nothing about the girls in maid outfit on the stage. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄

How reassuring it must be for Saiki to know that when she takes or needs a break, there are 4 musicians who, both individually, but especially as a group, can make their instruments sing for her at least as strongly. If you now also take into account that Miku is always taking on a double role, Kanami and Akane occasionally, this band, consisting of 5 members, actually has 8 singers. 🤯 That's why I never liked mathematics. 🤭 Anyway, this song is one of the absolute best for me, not only from this band, but maybe one of the best of the last decades. And finally a song that makes Kanami stand out. She's always so reserved, letting others take the spotlight more and longer, while everyone of us knows what a genius she is.🤘🏻🔥 _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. Band-Maid instrumental songs? This one, "Onset", "Without Holding Back", and "Don't Be Long" are pure awesomeness! You are correct in saying Band-Maid, at least, put these in to give Saiki a vocal break, and the audience is blown away with musical excellence!

Saiki had surgery in 2017, to remove polyps on her vocal chords, hence Band Maid having several top-drawer instrumentals in the "quiver". They give their all for these -- they don't believe in "filler" material.

Anyway, since her surgery, Saiki's voice didn't showed any sign of fatigue, at the contrary she even gets better and better - and stronger. So at first it may have bene a caution to have an instrumental, but now I'm sure it's 110% because they love it - Saiki's included!

And I don't believe there are any ego problems when Miku does Cluppo or Saiki sits out a song or two. The Maids have remarkable character and sense of mission that all musicians in bands should take note of. 🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀

OMG you never checked out Bandmaids instrumentals? Onset Official Live is on their youtube channel. Its Epic. Without Holding Back is another fantastic instrumental. Don't think that one is available through youtube though. There is another one I'm forgetting the name off.... gah.. I hate getting old and senile. :) Great reaction!

If you live instrumentals, you should.check out ONSET, official live, recorded in The Before Times. FROM NOW OM and.ONSET both showcase KANAMINCHO'S prowess as a composer of emotionally engaging music. And I think you haven't yet reacted to INFLUENCER, also from the UNLEASH EP. SAIKI really shines in that song.
