So TW and B-M met at a US festival in 2022 and said they should collaborate. They got that opportunity this year. They went to Japan and played three shows, one with Band-Maid. TW traveled to Japan two weeks early to write/compose/record with B-M and record a MV. They then played it together at their one concert together. In an interview on the PRS channel, Kanami and Dany said that more collaborations are in the future. Kanami wants B-M to go to Mexico and and Dany wants the collab to be in Spanish. Dany and Kanami play similar PRS guitars in the same color.
Nah. One song is plenty. Too much had to be dumbed down for The Warning to play it. It's like sticking The Gogo's on stage with Rush and expecting them to hang.
Both Saiki and Dany singing at the upper part of their registers - neither usually sings this high in pitch for a whole song. Kanami set the melody it that way, and The Warning helped improve the lyrics. While TW are fluent in English, they are native speakers of Mexican Spanish..... so eight musicians on stage, from two continents, singing in a third language, being listened to by fans spread world-wide. Whether this song tops your own list or not, that is a great achievement, a wonderful collaboration and full of fun.
The Warning are from Mexico, both bands are performing in a foreign language. They met at the After Shock festival in the US a couple of years ago and discovered they were already fans of each other’s music. They decided to do a collaboration when The Warning came to Japan on tour for the release of their Keep Me Fed album this June. Kanami wrote the song in advance because they would only have a week to put together a live show and music video. Dany said they had some input but the production was controlled by Kanami “ The Overseer “. Kanami wrote the song in a higher key than Saki and Dany normally sing in causing the similarity of vocal tone, normally Dany has a much lower tone than Saki though Dany does have a decent high register. They are talking of continuing this collaboration in Mexico were Dany hopes to get a Spanish song out of Band Maid. After hanging out together in Japan Misa said she misses her little sister Ale the bassist for The Warning.
Thanks from Japan 有難う 💛。 I witnessed the live debut of this song 😍 that was played as the encore & finale of the special concert by Band-Maid & The Warning on June 12 in Tokyo . My seat was located on the 2nd floor but in the center meaning in front of the two drummers. I was in bliss! It looked to me that Paulina and Akane literally and happily competed like a duel to see which drummer can kick harder enough to break their bass drum in the joint performance. 🤣 (FYI : In the special concert, The Warning, who opened as the special guest, performed so powerful that the Maids were fired up to start their turn with fullest energy as the hostess band. It was fun like a kind of martial arts between two fighters respecting each other. 😄)
Band-Maid and The Warning (from Mexico) were real fans of each before they met in person, then became friends. They first performed this song live in Japan. I'm glad you finally got around to doing more band-maid. It's funny that out of the more than 120 songs they have you happened to react to two animes and one video that actually was an anime. You should really check out the rest of their catalogs since it's extremely diverse.
The Warning are Mexican. English isn't their first language. They went to a Catholic bilingual school in Mexico, so they've spoken it pretty well since they were young children. Now, you can hardly tell that Spanish is their native language. However, they primarily speak it amongst themselves when at home. But, 97% of their music lyrics are written and sung in English. They've only written and released three songs in Spanish out of a catalog of one EP and four albums of 60 songs.
Monterrey, where they're from is one of the highest English speaking cities in Mexico, along with Guadalajara and Mexico City. It's a very bilingual place.

This collaboration is amazing, featuring two awesome bands. Kanami did push both singers to sing in a higher key than they normally sing in. And it is truly amazing how the matched tones doing so. Rock on left and right cheeks. 🤘😆🤘
