I’m from your dad’s years (Rush, Yes and Van Halen were my favorites). Your dad will LOVE Band Maid. They have 100+ songs over 11 years. They have been compared to the all-time greats from bass to guitar to drums and the vocals. Lyrics to match. I thought the best of rock and roll was behind us. Nope, it’s right here in Band Maid, the greatest band of all time. Try “Moratorium”, ‘Puzzle”, “Onset”…..oh, man, just choose any song. You (and you Dad) will love it. I LOVE BAND MAID ❤❤

This was from a Nov. 2023 concert. Their final show of their 10th anniversary tour. Akane is a great drummer. In a live video of the song Freedom, from 2018 I think, she has a drum solo part. You could also check out her work in the MVs Shambles, Rinne, and Dice. I'm probably your father's age. My younger brother was/is a drummer and his constant practicing got me to disliking drums for many years. Band-Maid drew me back into rock and Akane got me listening to and liking drums. Every member is an amazing performer and they mesh so well together. Enjoy the ride as I have now for 3 years.

Band-Maid has made the wonderful decision to incorporate bass heavily into their music. There are so many songs that they perform that allow MISA, their bassist, to shine. Hook your dad up with Band-Maid and tell him to go to the official Band-Maid RU-vid channel where they show many of their "official music videos" and their "official live videos" If your is OG roack and roll fan, he will LOVE Band-Maid. They have brought the joy of rock and roll back to many of old geezer rockers.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。My wife and I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. We were in bliss going through very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter 😄) Note : This song was played at 2023 Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, too. (Big applause, of course) Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)

@@philproffitt8363 Good morning from Tokyo. Both of us gasped when Saiki sat at the piano. We listened to her paly very carefully holding our breath. We felt relieved when she finished her play and applauded heartily. Honestly, we were tensed during the play. 😅 On March 20, however, we were relaxed when Saiki played the piano two times at the Acoustic concert ("Choose Me" and "Daydreaming"), because we already knew she could pull off her performance very well. 😁

Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. Thank you for reacting to the Maids. "Hate?" is an amazing song especially this version with the bass and guitar "conversation". And you called it, it would be great to see them live. I attended this show and "Hate?", was song 27 of 33 on the night. Energy through the roof. Why do we like the band? They are all fantastic in their roles and the members have no egos. They just do what's best for the song, so you will see all of them be heard and be allowed to shine. They are masters of mixing and matching genres, so it will be difficult to pigeon toe them into a single genre. After you do 10 or 20 songs, you will align with Band-Maid is the genre. Like you were pointing out the double kick in a rock song. In others, you'll also get some disco high hat action from time to time and be like did I just hear that? 😂 Enjoy your journey with the Maids. The discography is deep and diverse. "Freedom" is a great choice. Watch the Maids have a great time on stage. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘

"YES" a comparison of MISA(B-M Bassist) to Chris Squire! I have not heard or seen that by another reactor in my experiences. Besides going into the upper register, both bassists often provided another layer of melody to their respective bands in addition to a rhythmic foundation. MISA often weaves a counter point during the lead guitar solos as well. 👍 😃

You enjoy an amazing bassist and drummer you picked the best band to listen to - Band-Maid! MISA! The barefoot assassin and Akane the Gorilla is one of the best rhythm section in rock today! They were influenced by Deep Purple, Jimi Hendricks, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the Japanese Metal band “Maximum the Hormone”. I'm 66 and BandMaid is proper rock and roll music. IMHO there has never been a straight ahead main stream rock band ever as inventive, talented, engaged with the fans AND hard working as this band. They jump genre's and jam their songs to the rim with hooks and riffs constantly. Dirty bangers and exquisite ballads are part of their oeuvre. Once in a generation if we're lucky comes a group like BandMaid.

As a drummer, you’re going to have a lot of fun listening to and watching Akane. She gets a whole lot of creativity from a relatively small kit. I’m a bassist at heart, so my ears are naturally pinned to the drums. Her strategic use of half time is one thing that really stands out to me 👍🏽 Here are the songs I enjoy recommending to drummers: “Manners/Black Hole” “Warning!” “Onset” “YOLO” “Blooming” “Freedom” gets recommended because it’s the only song with a 30 second dedicated drum solo time; however, you’re going to find it was written as a fun piece to feed the crowd and not as technical as some might want to hear

It is rare for someone as young as you to have even heard of the bands that you mentioned. You knowing the names of the band members somewhat shocks me. I was able to see Yes, Rush, and Kansas many times when they were on top of the progressive rock world. You mentioning those musicians while watching Band-Maid is a huge compliment to their musicianship.

A couple of weeks ago I was on Yes and Deep purple combo in Montreal. Love it, but the music is different from Band Maid. I’d love to go on their concert. Maybe one day. Maybe more Red hot chilly peppers and Flea?
