Your welcome! You had basically the same reaction I had and I've been listening to these girls for years now😂 I truly love Saiki and her singing but hearing what the rest of them can do by themselves just makes you appreciate just how talented they all are
Normally when I hear a band for the first time, I kind of shift through some songs to find one I I really like. With Band Maid, I can't find a song that I dislike. This band is insane.
First you hear them and are surprised. Then you listen to some more songs and have trouble finding a bad one. Next you start listening on repeat to find out every song has tons of depth you missed the first time because your brain exploded. After that your brain starts to get accustomed to BAND-MAID. Now all other music isnt quite as good as it used to be 😆
Bro, you totally described every first reactor of Band Maid and you know what is the most awesome thing, that when everyone finishes to watch their first MV they're immediately a fan XD even if they try to deny it (I don't know how somebody can say that!)
I've seen and heard guitar players tap faster, more complex, longer. You can see virtuosos like Buckethead do more, and as comfortably. She's very good and smooth, just not that good. But very, *very* rarely is tapping so melodic and constructive to the song as in this one. It caries the main melody of the whole piece, and does so very well. That's serious songwriting mastery.
@@flashpeter625 I agree that's always the more impressive part. There is always going to be somebody technically better, but will that same person be able to fit it into a song as expertly as this surrounded by people supporting them? This seems like a once every 50 years combo to me.
It is well-known that in most of their songs, Kanami's solos are short and sweet, leaving us wanting more. Here, without the vocals, they let her off her f***in leash, and you just saw what happens.
Want a solo? Here's a solo, the one before Moratorium at the London show last year. The one and only solo that made my cry! Hit the link, enjoy. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GIEyVOBiPf4.html
@@franshendrix1404 Very cool, good call. She does a version of that solo in Summer Sonic in Japan around the same time, check this out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aoaFxXrQo1I.html&pbjreload=10
@@hiawatha.g Have seen it. Let them keep playing the song. In the Shibuta concert the transition from drum solo to guitar solo in Freedom is perfect! Reason I like it so much. But to be honest, wgat is to dislike about these women? Budokan awaits!!!
That's because Kanami doesn't really like doing a solo, what is a shame, because she's damn good at it. It's like Michael Phelps discovering he doesn't really like swimming.
I relax with BandMaid when I need a rare break from listening to Babymetal non-stop. And vice versa. I love them both - just THE best in Rock and Metal at the moment. This song is amazing, btw.
Some fans have an alternative funny irreverent name for this instrumental number: "Saiki's Pee Break". More seriously it might possibly have something with resting her voice. (She has had an operation on her vocal chords (to remove a tiny lump/knot IIRC) early in her Band-Maid career, but I have no idea whether that made any difference when it comes to fatigue, but it made her vocal fry a little smoother). More likely it is to let the instrument players have longer instrumentals and solos, because the instrumental arrangements on almost all of their songs are so rich and detailed that really long solos on top of all that and also the vocals would have been a bit overkill -- even if we are always left wanting more... BTW: Everybody gets a little break for Miku's "Omajinai Time" when they let loose "the Kobato" in all her wackiness, cute charm end enthusiasm to inspire and confuse the "masters and princesses" (audience) and perform a strange blessing on the concert with them...
They recently have started to involve other members as well. Akane was speaking a lot in Kobe, her hometown. She was even pushing Miku away, saying, "That's my city, let me have a word." In Nagoya, Miku and Saiki were having a fascinating two-men show on stage, bouncing jokes to each other. MISA now has her "opening ceremony" I think at every show, when she opens a can of beer at a mic. Even Kanami speaks from time to time, like in LOGO Hamburg, when she suddenly came with that KATAHABA meme, which is now a running joke at all their shows.
I wonder how can they combine being very much rock-n-roll and brutally energetic with such accuracy, gentleness and precision while playing their instruments.
In case anyone hasn't warned you: once you get into Band-Maid, make sure to stretch out and stay hydrated before and after reacting to a Band-Maid video. :)
I hope they make a MV for Go Nuts!! Miku needs to teach us many more things. Or, Saiki may show us how she is doing her workout and stretching while listening to Go Nuts!! Also, MISA may do some interpretive dancing. Lots of ideas they may come up with...
Just like the ocean sways before bringing a wave, so to does does she sway before washing us away, behold! Kanami the Tsunami! with her guitar she's an unstoppable wall of sonic force.
@@jasenyoface7555 listen to the original version from 1988. They released 2 remastered versions of this song over the years and they are not as good in my(and many others) opinion.
Band-Maid is the best rock band at the moment. But there are others (also from Japan). Just take a look at: Brats - (どうだってよかった) Doudatte yokatta (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ntJditD8hpQ.html). You will be pleased ;)

Seeing as you are starting to really get into Japanese bands and you like heavy, then you should check out the following bands: Unlucky Morpheus - Black Pentagram (a band that should be more popular than they are) The Gazette - Ugly (all male, that will be a change) Fate Gear - Headless Goddess (a relatively new band)
I had just run across the girls a couple days prior, watched every last official video on their channel multiple times, made my first iTunes purchase EVER (and first money spent on new music in DECADES) when I called up a friend of mine who had played guitar professionally in Japan back in the 90s. "Dude, I just found THE MOST AMAZING Japanese band! and they're all girls! and all dressed up li...." "Oh, you found Band-Maid, here, let me send you a link" ONSET. I swore I had no idea it could get any more amazing than what I had already listened to.
New subscriber here since you entered the rabbit hole that is Band-Maid. Another Japanese band to check out (also all-female) is Bridear. Slightly heavier than Band-Maid. Songs I recommend are: Ignite ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LQIDqudG_DQ.html Light in the Dark ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UxSrOqAxaKw.html Remedy ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UdIox99MJAg.html No Salvation ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lpFBCCSD5Go.html (unfortunately its a cosplay video, but the music is there)
