This one is described exactly by the title - not deep and meaningful this time, just Playful fun, for the band and the crowd, letting it all hang out, while keeping the interaction tight.
This was from their okyu-ji ("serving" - what the Maids called their live shows) in 2020 at Shibuya Line-Cube. It was the song just before Domination, which you have reacted to already. 🤘Capacity for the venue is @2,100, was originally built for the weightlifting events for 1964 Tokyo Olympics.
They have an album which is a SCORE of an album called Unseen World. So, this SCORE is entirely Instrumental. :D In that one you can definitely hear all the instruments being featured. Hmmm, there are also Instrumental Music Videos available which aren't in the Official Channel. They are normally found in the DVD/Blu-Ray releases. Usually 4+ songs. They are in a white room performing and Saiki-san is the only person missing.
Some people love to hear each individual instrument - I highly recommend you to sign up with Band-Maid Prime. You can find some concert footages that you can't find on their official channel, as well as members doing self-covers. They throw in extended mid-section or intro to a few songs in their live setlist, and it's nearly always slightly different. That's where each member gets the time to shine.
Kanami doesn't mindlessly ego shred. She always serves the song, her Bandmates and the audience. That's why she one of the greatest guitarist and composers in the business. Thx, Rick! 🎀B🤘A🤘N🤘D🤘-🤘M🤘A🤘I🤘D🤘!🤘🎀
Thanks for the reaction and comments. Originally composed as an instrumental, Saiki loved the song and asked Miku to write lyrics for it so she could join in on the fun. They certainly know how to Play!
Hi Rick, you know, these women can "Play"!!!!!! LOL!!!!! They are so much damned fun to watch live. I've been to two of their live concerts and felt like a teenager again. I also moved around like one, and paid for it the next few days. It was still worth it.
Ignore the troll commenter from the last video who pissed on Band-Maid in order to elevate The Warning. Some petty fanboys who never grew up think you can only like one band or the other, or that it’s some sort of competition. If you like a band, you don’t need to put other bands down to justify it. That takes insecurity to another level. Enjoy what you like!
I think it is extra fun that Miku has the possibility to shine in the solo like introduction. She is actually very good. Kanami, the guitar god in BAND-MAID, says that Miku is faster than her.
I love when the vocals trade too. Probably the best example is Freezer, an earlier song of theirs. They don't do it so much these days, although there's plenty of interplay in other ways of course.
The coolest thing about Play is that it started out as an instrumental and Saiki asked Miku to add some lyrics to the song and Miku said :Sure !" And the rest is, as we say, history. This is from a February 2020 concert just before covid shut everything down. The Shibuya Line Cube is a very popular venue and fits about 2,000 people. Both nights were sellouts and the crowd was wild. I believe that they had a setlist of either 26 or 28 songs for the shows and every one of them was a real banger. You can never have enough Band Maid !!!
Regarding backup vocal. Yes, it is very common in BAND-MAID that Miku and Saiki are singing different parts, sometimes at the same time. Saiki's vocals is so dominant, so when Miku sing pure backup, then she is almost not heard.
Greatest......song......intro......EVER!! Of course, I'm admittedly a bit biased since it's one of my All-time favorite songs! Thanks again for another great reaction! 🤘🤩🤘
@@B-Drags-Den So, yup. This was the track played right before Domination in the same concert in Line Cube Shibuya on 14-Feb-2020. Play was song 21 of 23.
