It was such a surreal experience watching my favorite band perform just a few feet in front of me and also meeting them before the show. Probably won't have many opportunities if any to experience it again.
Most importantly, they’re having fun, totally immersed into the music. Misa is amazing on the bass, and the drummer is the reincarnation of Keith Moon. These women obviously are well trained into jazz motifs that the great rockers of the past were into. These ladies put a smile on this old rockers face. Rock and roll for the sheer joy of playing it. The old saying that they rock the house is this band in the flesh. Baby Metal is another band that does the job. And then, there’s the Wagakki band who are beyond belief. Classical Japanese instruments and rock instruments in a classical/jazz/rock fusion? What is it about these Japanese musicians that makes them so good and well balanced and tight.
You know what? Props to their road crew. Making pedal switches, untangling cables, and making sure everything's dialed in so the ladies can focus on putting on a good show. It's cool to see them doing their thing too. (And yes, the footage of BM is awesome)
Got me cheering and going wild like I was actually there at the concert. Band-Maid's sheer energy and badassery shines through even when recorded on someone's phone/camera.
@@kuma9239 So true! I got to see Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Joe Bonamassa all while they were still fairly unknown in small venues like this. Spent 20 to 40 bucks on each show, NOW you can't see Bonamassa for under $100 plus in large halls, unless you buy rafter tickets. You can still see Eric, Joe, and Steve for a reasonable amount, but the venues are larger than back then.
It will probably be 2022 before I can see Band Maid 'Live' .. I 'so' want them to be WORLD FAMOUS! ..but ..I also want to get a good enough ticket ..close up so I can see all five smiles that made me fall in love with them all !............................................................................. "PO"!...............................................:)
#Bandmaid #MercuryLoungeNYC I'm grateful the Mercury crowd was so well behaved and shows such appreciation. I'm myself can't imagine being that close to these musicians and being so well behaved, BRAVO to everyone!
Wholly Katzenberger, I love this band. I found them a little more than a year ago and never looked back. These ladies could take on American bands and they would kick their butts.
What great footage! Looks hot in that joint! Kanami just soaking it all up early on but love how she and Misa switched sides. That's some of the best close up footage of Misa I've ever seen! She was really just "shredding" those bass strings...sooo good! And dang she is so naturally beautiful....pics don't do her shy persona justice. Looks like an incredible night!
Be sure to support their upcoming US tour which starts in Houston at The House Of Blues!! Make it work this time people as Band-Maid deserves a stadium tour for once!!
Thanks so much Ron for recording those videos! Both for people who couldn't go and for those of us who went but didn't want to have our cameras out the whole time!
It is my dream to see BM live in a smaller venue like this. Hell, I’ll take live anywhere but that’s my dream. Bring on Maids Day 2021 (only a few days away).
Lets hear a little praise for our pigeon. These re-writes of intros and riffs include more rhythm guitar now that Miku is a LOT more adept with her instrument.
People who do don't understand it. Her solid rhythm playing builds that complex Band-Maid sound, gives Kanami's lead guitar room to add detail and color, and what many people neglect is Miku's spot on harmonies with Saiki. Like Mister Rock & Roll (reactor) said, it's like 5 pillars in this band and you can't take one out. This is a 100% BAND! They've done a great job of creating a sound and vibe and we are the better for it! (Ok, waxing on a bit there but I don't think I'm wrong)
And most Americans listen to Beyonce. Like drinking jail house hooch instead of 20 year Balvenie double wood scotch. I do not have a proper metaphor for how much better Band Maid is. The Paul Klee of current rock music. Totally priceless.
Awesome...that reminds me on the Hamburg concert in June, where I was dancing, singing and shouting in front of Kanami...btw. Happy Birthday to You !!!
Hi All, how are you today? So chiba Japan April 9-10. I think 🤔 that's the closest. I keep forgetting your all kind of youngsters. Your so good cause you've played for quite some time. We have a couple of downtown venues. Anyways have a nice day becareful thanks vince
...at 2:23 Misa moves to Saiki's left side.....and I can't keep my eyes off Misa...she has all the gravitational pull in the universe....silentblackcloudBuddhabassboss..... ...po
Just hours to go until showtime at the Echoplex. Thanks for the preview of coming attractions. Happy Birthday Kanami Tono and many, many more. See some of you at Glendale and Sunset tomorrow evening. ~gekidou~ Po!
