I have finally decided, like Satriani, Santana, Stevie Ray V, and others, BAND-MAID will live forever. There has never been such before and wont be after they are gone but the memories and the songs will remain. For now, I am having a nice grin, Band Maid, another new hit! right before i get bored, they come out with new, i love these girls so much!! Excellent (and new sounds), of course MY fav moment is: 03:40 LOVE IT!!! WOW Kanami was playing 128th notes!!! too cool!! also note the lyrics, whoa.. that is some current attitude in the lyrics and seems like a promise that we will get through things, 'cant fight it, but i can protect you', etc ou, la la la la la la, la..la...la la!!😄 kinda reminds me of the crazy singing in influencer. I agree! In the future BAND-MAID will be recognized as the titans of music they really are. This song is just insane! Instantly ranked in my top 10 if I had to rank it. I really like the lyrics, they are quite catchy and powerful! Ive actually slowed down a bit due to work being crazy at the moment. Ive been trying to get 1 video per week but I think I missed last week or the week before. Ive tried to step up the quality of editing due to the lack of upload frequency. Nice to hear from you! I suspect we will probably getting new videos from the Maids pretty soon since their new album is coming out sometime in August, the last I heard. Interesting enough, i saw it mentioned on Reddit that this was recorded back 3 years ago during the same session as Sense and Corallium. Seems like Influencer may have gone down at the same time.
Oh wow, really? This must have been one of the songs Kanami was talking about when she said she always has 8-10 songs written and nearly completed at any given time. It totally has the same feeling as those songs.
One for the algorithm. Have you heard the new(ish) Glim Spanky song? It’s called “Fighter”. I’d also recommend you check out Tokyo Syoki Syodo. There’s a rumor that the lead singer has a bad habit of taking off her shirt and crowd surfing. Check out the video that starts with them sitting by a pool in beach chairs to find out if it’s true.
I havent heard that song yet! I dont listen to Glim Spanky that much despite thinking they are amazing. Its kind of bitter sweet to listen to them because they just remind me of listening to music with my dad so its just one of those things. LOL omg that sounds wild!
Ooo la la ... sorry I am late ... your debuts happen after my bed time ;) . They always do a really great job on their anime contracted music. Its funny that they spend even more time nowadays featuring MISA MISA MISA. I could not offer a criticism if you were paying me ;) .
Haha all good! They do create some incredible music, thats for sure. MISA was awesome in this song but thats to be expected. I really like that Kanami got to show off quite a bit and at first listen, I didnt even realize how much Miku was doing. Pretty wild to see how good she is getting with that axe. Saiki absolutely killed this song too. The vocals were fantastic!
Shreddawg, thank your reaction to Band-Maid’s Protect You. Every time I listen to something new from Band-Maid, especially like this song, it takes several listens to process all the depth of the composition. But on first take - wow, loved it.!!!!!
Yeah I feel the same about a lot of songs due to the complexity of their music. Even this song requires multiple listens to pick up on everything. But from the beginning, I knew this song was something special for sure!
BandMaid at their finest. Five pillars preforming in unison. Vocals are stellar. Kanami is on fire 🔥 Misa is killin it on base and those drums are bangin. And yes I had to listen twice 😃 love it 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
Yeah its pretty crazy to think how much success they have found. Multiple songs being used for anime's is quite a bit deal as well. Pretty awesome to witness this!
I've seen quite a few negative comments on this song such as it sounding like every other anime songs by them, or sounds like Unseen World. I think this one is very unique indeed. The vocal melody has very traditional feel. Reminiscent of old middle-eastern or enka, they even used Koto (one of those Band-Maiko might have used), Saiki's ascending vocal run in the second verse. Saiki going low. I mean she went as low in outro of manners, alone, why why why and more. It's her falsetto that's getting stronger and more colourful (and powerful) in my personal opinion. And Miku is a brilliant rhythm guitarist now, thanks to Kanami's rhythmically tricky composition style 😂
I havent really kept up with what people are saying about this song, ive been super busy with work. (Sorry for late reply). But honestly, everyone is free to feel what they think. In my opinion, this song highlights the awesome powerhouse that BAND-MAID is. You are correct, Saiki's voice is getting even more powerful! Miku is absolutely killing it now too. Before her progress was to the point where should could hold down the rhythm perfectly. I believe she has ascended past that now which is awesome! Though the song does remind me a bit of songs like "Sense", I love that song. This song is different enough and highlights Miku and Saiki quite a bit. Kanami just absolutely goes off the entire time too so im always here for that! I personally LOVE this song!
Hey, bro. Once again, apologies for not replying sooner to your reaction for Protect You from our beloved maids. As with Bestie, Protect You seems to have divided opinion across the board, with some proclaiming it yet another banger, which can rightfully take it's place in their discography amongst all the other bangers, and others who have been either lukewarm or not quite as emotionally invested in the song. While I do happen to enjoy the song as a standalone single, I'm more eager to hear it within the context of the album. Personally, I would have loved it had they shaken up their production and mixing process a little rather than sticking with the same sonic template that they appear to have favoured on most of their recorded output over the last few years. Minor nitpick over, I'm still looking forward to hearing Epic Narratives in full upon release.✌️❤️🤘
Yeah I understand it. Bestie was a song that I had to listen to multiple times. It really is an incredible song. This one however, instantly grabbed me. Its everything I want from a song. I think starting off a show with this song is one way to get people amped up for a hell of a show! I do know what you mean though, it reminded me quite a bit of Sense but that formula just works for me haha. It would be interesting to see if they have another "evolution" similar to how they went with how Unseen World seemed to amp things up with a lot of progressive elements.
