I have seen some good concerts in the past, Pink Floyd , Rush, Yes, and as far as technical skill these women are right there. One of the best things about Rush was how close it sounds to the studio album till they jam and do solos. I thought I would never go to another concert since I am old and lazy, but I think I want to see them before I die
Nice comment. ❤️♫₊˚.🎸★ I listened to some Yes music. I always thought of them as a forerunner to Rush. You actually saw them. Wow, Rush is such a great band. It's actually one of my favorite bands; the music is so logical, and I love playing it. I was actually playing 'Subdivisions' today, testing my practice amp after changing the pots (potentiometers) on it. Well, Pink Floyd is just one of the all-time great bands, and you also saw them live. There is an interview with Sting where he talks about modern music and how creativity is missing, and music is stuck within the 12-note scale. But bands like Band-Maid exist, so I don't quite share his view totally. I believe that currently, Band-Maid is one of the best rock bands, and they are one of the bands that are charting the future of the genre.
Someone needs to make an Anime of Misa and Mincho having a sword fight. Obviously Misa would win but I think just barely. Afterwards Misa can get Mincho drunk again 😅
Dude there is no gimmick here, it's just 2 girls playing super well at their instruments live, this is just pure good rock music Is doing guitar and bass solos a "gimmick" now ? or is it just because they are girls ? Or are you part of those insecure men offended that women can be genuinely great at something you aren't good at ?
The rythm guitarist used to work in a maid cafe in Japan and the name and look are kind of a "we look cute, take this!" Approach. It does make some dismissive of them which is sad as they are excellent musicians with a deep catalog of very good songs.
This actually slowed me from checking them out. When I finally did listen - "Holy crap! They ROCK!" They've been my #1 band ever since - 2015. There's a Japanese artistic thing called the gap. An artist gives one initial impression and then hits you with something very different. In this case the idea was, come out wearing cutesy cafe-maid outfits and then blast everyone with a strong real hard rock sound.
