I LOVE this instrumental. Everybody shines. Everybody excels. Collectively they are on another level. Their sense of melody is phenomenal. What a joy to listen to Band-Maid. Just lay back, close your eyes and all the world is right. Peace.
This is a epic instrumental song! They performed it live in one the online concerts this year, so it's not just a studio exercise! Oh, and it was just as epic live! Also, Happy Birthday to the Small Pigeon, Miku Kobato! Without her, there is no Band Maid! Pigeons will save the world, Po!
My favorite instrumental so far is still "Don't Be Long". There's a Jeff Beck element to the songwriting that I love. Plus the whole middle segment starting with the sharp riffing through the solos to the ferocious drum blast gets me every time.
I think this instrumental perfectly represents Band-Maid from today's point of view. For me it is 'Onset 2.0' or 'Onset - The Evolution'. Just like their album 'Unseen World', which I think skipped some evolutionary stages. And it all seems to come so damn easy to them that it's almost scary. But of course I know that they work very hard for it. :) _____________________ 【 Our rock never dies ever. Forever! 】- from BAND-MAID 'Manners' 🕊
Without Holding Back is still a close second for me. Onset is one of the first songs that got me into Band-Maid so holds kind of a special place for me. Check out the instrumental versions of Giovanni and No God. They will blow your mind.
I second that. For Bandmaid reaction video, there are always really small amount of dislike. Always. Do they have Bandmaid dislike patrol or something? 👿 Thank god the number is not growing.
I have issues with my edition of Unseen World. Yes, got WHB on the blu-ray (Nice) but missing from audio CD...you do get the superb 'Youth' though (not on Regular album or +DVD edition). They put Manners on twice!!..instead of WHB. It's a minor niggle...but I wanna rip the song to blast in the car with the rest of the collection :-)
8:20 -- I got a feeling you had gotten confused as to whether you had heard it before, because Band-Maid produced similar instrumental videos of other songs off their new album. Same studio set up, same visuals. I remember getting confused by it all my first time, too. "Without Holding Back" is by far my favorite song on their latest album, but in terms of instrumentals, I still like their masterpiece "Onset" more.
Great reaction and you spoke how I felt about this song. Regarding Bandmaid instrumental in general, I think they are written for Miku to practice her guitar skills at beginning. For example Don't be long is another instrumental track as B-side of Different and in the interview Miku and Kanami was saying that by the time Miku could play the song, there will be no problem playing Different. Not sure it is true for all instrumental, but looking at all different technique thrown into the song, I would guess so. BTW, Play was originally wirtten as instrumental but Saiki (voval) loved it so much thatt She asked Miku to add lyrics so they can play together. You are right on that you need special effort to join as vocalist 😎
@@K.H.D710 MISA MISA MISA! as I was saying on another re-action I wish them all the success and World Domination BUT hope they still do smaller venues. To be 6 feet away FEELING MISA's Bass Staring at the Goddess that is Sai-chan (she is soooo captivating IRL) REALLY hope you and other MADIACS get to experience that up close and Personal feel.
@@DavidMISAMISAMISACook If they ever perform at small venues again, it will be abroad like US or European countries. They had already been performing at mid-to-large venues in Japan. Also the fact that they were about to perform at Budohkan implies that they will perform at large-to-huge venues in Japan after this pandemic. So, in order to have similar experience as yours, I will have to attend their Okyu-ji abroad💰💰💰😱
Better??? I'm not the guy who say's " I Like Their Old Stuff Better Than Their New Stuff" (Regurge... Thank You.... Some Aussies will get the pun)".... However with every release, they do/are/sound better. B-M have released/played 4 instrumentals... Onset, Without Holding Back, Don't be long.... and I know there is one more... I think!?!?!? LOL. Don't be long was written more or less as a training exercise for Miku, for the song "Different". ALL B-M's instrumentals are great and different....and that's a good thing. I could actually write an essay about this, but I won't. However, it is strongly rumoured that "Play" was written as an instrumental before Saiki got her hand's on it... Thank god!!! lol
Listen to "From now on" - That's also amazing. Band-Maid just keeps topping themselves. Also listen to "Giovanni" where they recorded instrumentals and then handed it off to Miku to write lyrics. Then they released it both ways. One reaction video listened to both versions and it just blew his mind that Miku could write lyrics *- that fit perfectly -* to such an mind blowingly insane instrumental. The vocal and instrumental versions sound totally different even though the same instrumental tracks were used in both. The blend of Miku's and Saichi's voices add another instrument to the mix.
I'd like to throw a hat in the ring for the instrumental version of Giovanni, which is shown in the same format. It absolutely SHREDS, Kanami is going so fast that it's hard to believe they didn't speed up the vid. Give it's try, I'm sure you'll dig it!
