Band of Brothers 1x10 Final Scene REACTION 

Apologies for the sound quality. Thought I'd post an incredibly emotional moment from the finale livestream. A longer ep edit will be up once it's done - unfortunately the sound isn't great but I'll do the best I can! Thanks for being with me for this ride, people. It's been wonderful to experience this utterly stunning show for the first time.

"grandpa said no...but I served in a company of heroes." That part gets me EVERYTIME.

I could remember watching this scene when it aired. It was only a couple of months after the 9/11 attacks and I was an NYPD "homicide" detective. All NYers nerves were still very raw. I was watching this with my beautiful wife & was biting my lip so I didn't cry in front of her. But dammit I couldn't keep it in and I got very emotional hearing those incredible men talk. Thanks for posting Juliette. It was actually a great memory.

Boys of today, these men were once boys, but didn't have it near as easy. Listen too them, they know what it took to grow up quickly..salute all veterans

Winters and my grandfather grew up about a 10 min. drive from each other...He volunteered for the Navy and fought in the South Pacific when he was just a teenager. I just lost him last year...age 91. Winters is a hometown hero...but so is my granddad...I'll never stop missing him and never forget what he taught me about being an upright, honest, descent man

My uncle was in the 101st, made it as far as Bastogne, took 3 rounds from an MG42 in the chest, laid in the snow 2 days before they found him. The cold weather saved him, he passed away in 1985. My father flew P-51 Mustangs in the 357th in England got shot down twice, made it back to his bunk before dark both times. He passed away in 1997. My other uncle flew F4U Corsairs in the Pacific he was lost at sea after a ground support Mission on Iwo Jima in 1945, MIA to this day. I stumbled on to your work today, THANK YOU!! ;)

My reaction too. And I am the 68 year old son of a WWII vet. He always said the greatest day of his life was when he heard the war was over. Very powerful ending. A great series.

Juliette, I am a member of the University of Texas Longhorn Alumni Band, and we have been chosen as the main ceremonial band for the 75th anniversary of the Normandy invasion. We will be playing the national anthem of all the countries involved in the Normandy invasion. It is a great honor to be part of this anniversary. One of our members is 92 year old Mel Kusin who plays the baritone. He was part of Patton's Third Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

Jup, I cried along with you, I lost count of how many times I've seen this series, these final 6 minutes are the most emotional every time.

Thank you for your tears. They were the best generation. And we need to not ever forget what they gave for all of us. Brillant.

“We are band of brothers, we stand alone together!” The history shall never be forgotten by new generations.

Grandfather landed on the Normandy beaches, he served in Europe throughout the war. I was born into an Army family, my Dad served almost 40 years. I did 9 years myself. The telling of Easy company's story is epic, accurate, and like many others have no doubt commented, the interviews of the guys completely finished me off the first time I watched this, and every time since. Might not be evident to all, but there are things you don't talk about, not to anyone, even those that were there with you. You learn to talk over and around certain events or details, no good can come from talking about everything you saw or did, and it's there in their voices and how they say what they do. There's also the wisdom and perspective of having relived those moments over and over again, thousands of times, trying to make sense of it all, in the years since. One of the most profound quotes I've come across is this: 'It's not that I can and others can't, its that I did and others didn't.'

BoB is still the best mini series I've ever seen. I watch it once a year. It's amazing every time.

My family and I have a Memorial Day tradition where we watch this series every year. It is sad because this year, all the men of Easy Company are dead. Malarky passed away this past September. As Winters said, he did not consider himself a hero, but served with a company of heroes.

The most brilliant war movie ever. I cry every time I see it. There are real heroes in the world. And they don't wear red capes.

I am a man's man.. I like cars, guns and willing women and this scene has made me cry every fuckin time I see it. One of the truly few cinematic masterpieces ever made

My great grandfather was in a tank regiment in ww2 . Was in the battle of the bulge. When I was younger I asked if he ever met the guys on the TV show band of brothers. He had a long pause and said " how could I forget " . That's all he had to say .

Juliette, I cried with you. I do every time I watch this series. My grandfathers fought in the Pacific during WWII, so they weren't part of D-Day, but following these heroes in Band of Brothers helps me understand the pain and sacrifices that they went through to help win the war.

As an American, thank you for your response, I had the same one.

It is appropriate to be brought to tears, for these are American Men who, as President Lincoln once said, have hallowed this American Soil far beyond our power to "add or detract". We must remember them, and never forget what they gave to us, and we also must make sacrifices, and give to this nation, what it has given to us.

As a former soldier myself I just want to say thank you, nothing else, just thank you.

My dad went to Coughlin HS in Wilkes-Barre, PA in the mid 60s. Harry Welsh was his assistant principal.

Juliette, thanks again for sharing this journey with us. My father was a Marine in S Pacific in WWII, my stepfather in the Army fought his way from D-Day to Berchtesgarden; my oldest brother was in the Navy and ran a gunboat on the Mekong River in the '60s. I grew up watching Hollywood's depictions of "The United States at War", but always knew it wasn't right, somehow - because the men in those movies didn't really match what I saw in real life. BoB is brilliant in that way; it strove to show us that the men who fought, who fight, are really just guys, trying to stay alive. It strove to show us that war isn't about pretty stories with neatly-tied-off endings, that random bullshit happened to good people just because they happened to be in the wrong foxhole at the wrong time. It strove to show us that even "that company of heroes" had its dark members, and dark times. The amount of love and respect the filmmakers, the crew, the actors, had for their source material and real-life counterparts is inspiring all by itself. Watching this through your eyes made me realize all over again, how right they got...everything. Good art should make us think, and feel - I think this series certainly qualifies. Thanks again for your thoughts, and your tears, and for letting us come along for the ride.

My reaction exactly. Life is precious. and this series so perfectly embodies all of it ----its most treacherous events that humanity endures, but also, and more importantly, the most meaningful: Friendship, respect, sacrifice, a sense of duty for a greater good, perspective, enlightenment, the longing to love one another and learn from these events in history so we don't repeat these things. This series should be shown in every high-school history class. We owe so much to that fine generation.

I watched that series when it came out in 2000. I bought the box set when it came available. I've probably seen this scene a dozen times or more since 2000 and I got choked up each and every time, including this time now. I think that the only way that could be improved on this show is if they could figure out a way to add the smell of rotting bodies, the smell of gun powder, body oder because it has been a month since your last bath and the decibels that a actual artillery shell creates when it explodes as well as the concussion that would blow you 20 feet. Best damn chronicle of a combat team ever! I appreciate the fact that this had a impact on you. Thank you ! That means more to me than all of the "Thank you for your service." remarks that I hear. Again, thank you. USMC 1969-1972.

After 20 years I still cannot manage this finale with no tears.

The greatest generation. “We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother”.

I hope you learned that freedom comes with a heavy cost...my grandfather served on the USS INDIANAPOLIS, had it not been for a single photograph of him in uniform I'd have never known. I had other uncles and cousins who served in Korea and Vietnam. Myself I served 23 years in US Marines, from Beirut, Panama, Desert Storm, Somalia and Afghanistan, retiring in 2005 after being wounded. Like them, not a day goes by that I don't think about the men I served with and pray for them and their families. There are really no winners and no losers in war, only survivors...and every survivor is a casualty, sometimes you just can't see all of the scars...

I don't know how many times I've watched Band of Brothers, but this scene makes me cry every single time.

Your smile says everything when it was revealed that that old man was Winters. You could tell on that weathered aged face that he kept his promise, to spend the rest of his life in peace.

An ending that can bring a grown man to tears. Band of Brothers was such a brilliant show, and an emotional roller coaster at times. I doubt much will be able to beat it

Shifty Powers had it right, when you're in the middle of everything like these men were, they felt nothing was beyond their reach. They could accomplish anything they were asked (or ordered) to do. Thank you for your reaction. I was tearing up with you.

The casting in this series was amazing. They really got actors who resembled their real life counterparts.

I discovered this last week, and have watched your entire Band of Brothers Reaction series. It is brilliant. Band of Brothers is my favourite tv show of all time, and as a teacher I use clips from both this episode and Day of Days as they are so brilliantly shot, and the tone and feelings are wonderful teaching tools. I have loved watching you react to it, for you bring out the emotion of the episodes, and I feel as if I was re-watching them again for the first time. I always tear up in the final scene of this episodes, and I knew I will tear up doubly so in watching it with you. The goodbyes and the after the war stuff. Then finding out whom is whom of the vets. Wow. Thank you very much for this. Its been an honour. I truly enjoyed this journey with you, and look forward to travelling 'The Pacific' with you as well.

I came across your BoB reaction videos and I ended up watching all ten. It’s my favorite WW2 series and I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to share your reactions. It was great.

Juliette, I mentioned this before but worth repeating. Your truth shows up during your views of one of the best Shows ever created. I wish more people would be willing to share their heart. Your openness speaks volumns and u love it. I understand this show is not for everyone, as too much realism bothers some. If this wasn't true, my wife would have watched it by now. This series makes me cry, I loved your reaction. You show so many emotions to these great men. If this movie series interests you go on a tour. I did and followed these great Americans. While in Paris I saw a Statue in honor of Dick Winters, it made me cry..The cemeteries I found were amazing. So many men didn't leave foreign land never returned home to their families.

I’ve just finished watching BoB again, and that ending gets me every damn time. The baseball scene is when I start, then by the time the real soldiers are talking, especially that last sentence, I’m a bawling wreck.😭😭😭😭

I've had the pleasure of knowing many of the actors and family members of the real men and lucky enough to count them very much as friends. They would be honoured that even so far on from the original filming that people are still learning about these men and getting as emotionally connected as you do.

One of the finest tv series ever made. Man i seen it so many times but it still gets me after all these years.

I don't know if it gets dusty suddenly or if someone starts peeling onions, but my eyes get a bit watery too when I watch this.

Still on of the best and most epic/grand pieces of TV ever in my opinion. Just 10 episodes and it feels like a massive journey, each episode does such a good job of telling it's own story whilst progressing it overall. Plus the amount of actors in it, now mega famous is crazy.

Great series. I worked with men like this on the Post Office in the early 80's who had been at war. One I knew who had fought with the British Paratroopers at Arnhem I was on a split shift with and when a Bridge Too Far was on at the cinema nearby, I asked him if he wanted to go see it with me, to which he replied, "no thanks lad, I saw it live".

My reaction too. When he said " my friend Lou died in 1995" I absolutely fell apart.

I always start tearing up when he says Perconte went on to become a mailman.. It's such an iconic peaceful nice-guy job for such an iconic gritty tough-guy soldier..

I was getting weepy right there with ya when they interviewed the old gentlemen.

Major Winters Passed away in 2011 but was a role model of mine since the first time I saw the series.

I have watched the series many many times and the ending has me stunned each and every time and leaves me on the brink of tears to see and hear such humble and compassionate heroes. Seeing your reaction and tears sent me over the edge, but it was cleansing so "Thank You" :)

Thank you for letting us ride along and maybe give validation to the emotions that were/are/will be evoked in myself. My biological father was a prisoner of war for 4 years finally succumbing to the hard times in 1958. My step father was wounded in Bastogne and taken prisoner until the end, passing in 1997. And my own journey through military times. Thank you for staying with us, inviting us in and making our own band of brothers and sisters.

The part that really hot me was when I believe it was John Martin was laughing and pointed at the faded Airborne Tattoo he had on his Forearm. He said that him and a Buddy Got them after Normandy when they went back to Scotland. Then he stared at it and starting getting emotional, and said " Hell we lost over half our men in Normandy in a few weeks. We figured there was no way we would live through the war with those odds"

It lifts my heart seeing young people recognizing the amazing sacrifices that have been made on our behalf.

It's a warm feeling knowing and seeing a young lady show such emotion towards and interest in people who fought for our country. May you fully enjoy the freedoms these men and women fought and died for, for all of us. Bless you dear..

I really enjoyed your reaction videos. You are very genuine and I like that you as a younger person was taking such an interest in the war and asking all the right questions. Very well done.

They've all left us now. Losing them is a loss for everyone, they truly were heroes, even if they didn't like to be called that. We may never see their like again.

I never cried watching this (God knows how many times I’ve watched it) but watching your reactions to things I’d never even thought about brought a few tears to the eyes. As a former British Soldier I can remember seeing this in 2001 when I was going through basic training, and the whole thing brought the realism of war home. Since 2015 I have been doing research into BOB/Easy company and some of the stories they couldn’t tell, missed out or mistold are very interesting. Books by Dick Winters & Donald Malarky about their experience give a much more in-depth view of what happened. The series only used 25 main characters, where as in real life 120ish people were in Easy company at anyone time, they had to condense the stories down.

2 years on and I still cry watching your Band of Brothers reaction videos. Wonderful x

Their story will live on in history, in memories, and the stories that was passed down. As of late last year there is now less than 10 of the original 101st airborne Easy Company soldiers still alive today. Not only that just any WWII veteran. The ones that are still alive are in their 80s-90s. That is why very time I see a veteran mainly the older veterans I thank them for their service. War is never a good thing but I am deeply grateful for the men and women who fight for our freedom. To any army soldiers and veterans that sees my comment I am deeply thankful for your service and I salute you.

So wonderful to see a beautiful young Lady appreciate the extreme importance of History--Easy Company personified the meaning commitment and sacrifice to be sure. Absent such, we do not have this conversation today.

Every time I watch this with my family- I almost always get teary-eyed whenever we saw the concentration camps, and the part that would fill me with the most nostalgia is the speech the german general gave to his troops, and then the part where he said, " No.. but I served in a company of heroes." I’ve been watching your “Band of Brothers” reactions this evening after coming across your first reaction and I absolutely love your emotional connection to the characters and their stories. It is among my all-time favorite shows and it’s always wonderful to witness newcomers to the show, even after all these years. I love your videos.

My favorite was when you see the the interviewed veterans named revealed. Really shows you that these guys did get to enjoy what was left of their lives. Lives free of war and horror, finally peace and prosperity. I know not many are still with us in 2019, but these men will always remain in my heart for the laughs, tears of both joy and sorrow that their incredible story has brought me. This series will always remain as the greatest media representation of the Second World War and their story shall forever live on as we journeyed with them through their war.

They were all hero's in my mind.

The series BOB was a very educational one but let us not forget this series was about Easy Company. There were hundreds if not a few thousand other companies from all branches of the military that fought in that terrible war as well and they all deserve to be recognized. What a horrible shame that we are loosing thousands of WWII and Korean War Vets daily and before long there will be none so whenever we see a Vet lets show and tell them how much their sacrifices are appreciated. GOD BLESS ALL VETS.

I just discovered your reaction videos and let me tell you, that final sequnce in the series the THE most powerful and emotional thing that to this day I still cannot watch this without tearing up. The heart and soul put into the production of this series does so much justice and honor to those men that I have yet to see another series or movie match it.

Every time I watch the last episode of band brothers I nearly cry myself I always feels the emotion of these Great guys who seen death and put there own lives on the line for all of us today that are here today. All world war two veterans are our hero's I love this series. WE WILL NEVER FORGET

That last line by Dick Winters always gets me.

I've seen this tv show more times than I can remember, what a masterpiece. Yes this TV show makes you cry, there was a few parts that were emotional to watch and one of the ones for me was when Richard Winters received his Oak Leaves from Nixon, as Winters opens the box, he's so humble and he is a real hero.

Been a few years since ive seen the series but youtube brought me here. I still started shedding tears watching her shed tears and it isnt fresh in my head. Major winters always gets me with that quote.

"who never got to enjoy the world without war" always gets me

Excellent series! I had my wife watch BoB with me and believe me your emotions during this journey echoes hers exactly. I watch it continuously but 1 go around for her...she can't take the sadness. I try to look through the horror of it all and see the selfless acts and heroism of a group of men literally banding together. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

Just found this channel today and watched several of the B of B videos. In many ways a unique, strange experience - revisiting these often brutal episodes through the eyes of such a tender-hearted young woman. Somehow, both a sad and lovely thing.
