If you want your Band Saw to run and cut smoothly you need to keep it maintained. I will show you how to set up and do some simple maintenance to keep your Band Saw running right.
I clean my bandsaw boots/tires with a green scotch pad lightly.. it seems to snag the debris without abrasing the material..same method you used turning it by hand with saw unplugged.
How's she goin'? Great video on setting up and maintaining your band saw. I have a 14" Delta clone. I can't get it to cut parallel with the miter slot. Any ideas on how to get the saw to cut straight? Thanks for posting and take care!!
A band saw rarely cuts parallel with the miter slot, it always skews to one side. Make a straight cut down a board then adjust your miter gage to the angle of the work piece. Hope that makes sense.
@@stevoj8959 Yes it does. That's what I have been doing. I tried a lot of things to try and get it to cut parallel with the slot. I got pretty close but no cigar!!! Thanks and take care!!
Yes quality of everything has gone down. The teacher should know how and maintain their own equipment. Thanks for the information. Merry Christmas to you and family.
Some teachers do and some don't. The biggest thing for them is time. Way easier to call me, I don't mind. You have a great Christmas as well, one I am sure we will all remember.
I think the quality of all tools has gone down. However if you open up your wallet and pay $$$ you can get good stuff. Folks are enticed by the low price. Interesting Steve,
Cheap is fine if you don't use your tools but in a school they are tested to the limits. You are right when we are talking dollars but it is still tough sometimes to find good quality.
