Great review for a great figure. However, one feature your review missed is the removable top covers on both Super Boosters, which reveal internal machinery detail (painted silver). Don't worry, I also initially missed this feature. The marketing for the toy lacked any photos of the exposed boosters, the box art never depicts the exposed boosters and the instruction booklet inside never details the feature. Only after a week of handling the toy did I suspect the feature, which is a credit to Bandai because the seams on the toy are almost imperceptible. However, using a toothpick on the inside of the top vernier thruster, it's easy to pry the covers open. You did cover this feature in your other HMR reviews like the VF-1S Strike Valkyrie. So I assume like me, you simply missed it for the VT-1 Ostrich. I know it's a lot of work to put together these reviews, but I just want to request that you consider editing in some brief additional footage to this video to showcase the booster's removable covers. I've advertised the feature on my own Facebook page, other toy pages and other Macross groups. But it would be great if you could also cover it in your review, since your reviews are some of the best and have a lot of views. It would really help folks become aware of this "hidden" feature. As always, keep up the excellent work!
Is it really worth it to hunt down these HiMetal or should I stick with 1/60. :( I really want an ostrich and Elint but I cant find yamato's efforts. I hope arcadia revisits them.
I thought after the M&M reissue we would see a VT-1 and VE-1 reissue from Arcadia but instead things were very quiet. It's too bad. The HMR toys definitely don't replace 1/60 V2s but, assuming you could get the HMRs at MSRP, it's a very fun line made more fun since you won't be so afraid of screwing it up somehow like you might be with something more expensive.
