I wonder if this figure’s softer sculpted details were intentional, since Zilla’s CGI model in the movie is kinda smooth even compared to other CG used for things in the movie like Kamacuras. The older Bandai ones seemed more modeled off of G98’s design rather than the Final Wars Zilla model, and the Y-MSF seems to have done something similar to the older figures (They are apparently working on a fully accurate version based directly on the CGI model though). We know even modern Bandai can make detailed vinyl sculpts so perhaps they did this on purpose. No excuse for the paint though. Ah well, I’ll still get my hands on this.
I'm also glad that MMS Zilla exists but I agree that he's lacking a bit. Hopefully the voices of 98/Zilla fans are heard enough so that Bandai would consider in making more Zilla figures. Perhaps even an original 98 or TAS mold.
I’m really hoping more of Godzilla 1998 and Zilla will enter the ranks of Bandai and then some. Would be really nice to see more under repped monsters like him get their turn. As far as TAS goes… Y-MSF does what Bandon’t 👀
I plan on getting two of those tuna heads, one to custom paint so it is more screen accurate and the other like Godzilla The Series. Also, what a coincidence that I got Godzilla 2004 (2023 release) at FYE while I was on vacation recently!
So we have Godzilla, Zilla, Gigan, Rodan, Angirus, Hedorah, Manda, Monster X and Keizer Ghidorah in the MMS. All we need is King Caesar, Minilla, Kumonga, Kamacuras and Ebirah.
I find the full irony of the fact that zilla has the most theropod dinosaur accurate body when he's the only Godzilla incarnation confirmed to be a lizard hilarious!! Well, that and the 54 Godzilla, he was accurate for the time.
@@ShinRobjira It’s also funny how of all the things the 1998 film did to Godzilla the one thing that made Toho put their foot down was the fifth finger.
As much as I would have loved a 98 tag with the zilla foot with the statue of liberty and green lightning or zilla grasping the empire state building screaming at the sky I'm sure there's legal reasons behind it.
@@RedSkull-hn2zi well you have Tristar zilla then there's toho zilla ,I think it has more to do with the tag design not the monster itself plus I'm sure they were going strictly final wars with this release;they could possibly do an exclusive/repaint/anniversary version at some point with a 98 movie tag.
I know he’s not very painted but like idk even with minimal paint he works for me, I’m excited for him to get here, I’ve been waiting for them to make a toy of him in the standard vinyl size since I saw the movie as a smol child (whenever they released final wars in the US on dvd)
Damn u, Bandai for making me want the monster from a movie I fucking despise with a passion but dammit... this is a good Zilla figure. Can't wait to get him!
Honestly the lack of paint doesn’t bother me at all, sure Zilla had more textures/colors but the sculpt itself seems very truthful to Final Wars zilla model
While I don't think the figure is perfect, it's still nice that Zilla is getting more love and respect. I hope we get a highly detailed Godzilla 1998 figure.
Unfortunately that’s just their rhyme and reason to their game these days. Exclusives are the “we don’t believe this will sell.. so we make it limited” it seems. Lame. But real.
Hey ShinRobjira and everyone else. Which figure do you think bandai should make next Bandai movie monster series Final Wars King Caesar or Final Wars Ebirah or Modified Gigan?
Tbh I'd personally have to choose Modified Gigan since bandai has only made the 8" tall Modified Gigan and he's very pricey because I've seen him go for over $100 dollars on eBay. But I'm sure all three will be made eventually
9:15 Oh FedEx doing what FedEx always does? Taking even longer to do their job? Taking 10-14 days when USPS does it in 3-4? I know exactly how that goes.
@@ShinRobjira I used DHL once, it was slightly better than FedEx only because I didn't pay as much as I would had I chose FedEx. But when FedEx takes 10 days to bring me my Flameborn Rodan, but USPS only takes 3 days to bring me my Pre Evolved Godzilla, I start to wonder what exactly is FedEx good for?
This was relayed to me via Trendmasters Prototype Toys which was told to him via Trendmasters employees, I’m not sure if it’s been catalogued anywhere else
I mean I would’ve preferred if they made a vinyl scaled down version of the trendmasters ultimate Godzilla but this is ok I guess Holding out for a hiya tho
I actually really like it, given it reflects the shitty quality of the CGI model used in the film. That being said, I actually think the best representation of Zilla 04 just so happens to be the ORIGINAL X Plus Godzilla 1998, which came in two colors, brown and green, and the green one looked remarkably similar to how Zilla would look in Final Wars. On top of that, its also a very large figure, which is always a plus.
@@growlie2676 very good im actually getting my head redone to make it tighter because i just wanted it tighter but the quality is amazing but assembling it is no fun i had to get mine assembled by somebody else
@@Thegojira1998fan Good to know, although I just have to hope Hiya can do him as Artic figures are too expensive. Plus I don't like the idea of assembly as my first assembly kit was an Energy Liger from Zoids. Never again.
