When the Jukebox cranks with controlled power, the criticism is all they do is play loud. But their writing for power style has set a standard to be met by most Swac bands. So when they cool down with songs with a dynamic, articulated chemistry or a beautifully written and executed ballad, there's criticism to that approach as well. This is why Southern should continue to rep their tradition, do things the Jukebox way because there's always gonna be fanatics and critics no matter what. The fact that it was only 2 songs each per band was because of the stadium. Believe me. Was there in person that day and everybody in Southern's band definitely wanted to play more, but stadium staff ended after the second song from each band. Sucks but oh well.

#AndreLamarYoung1219, No sir, that’s not true at all, because @KBThaBandhead critiques SU whenever he feels they’re weren’t on their A game. The Marching WildCats main issue is song selections. BCU never ever play outside the box. Mr. Wells simply plays it safe, and he only allows BCU to play a lot of old whole note songs. Yes, we all know BCU sounds amazing here. We also know they can play other songs as well, if given the chance. If only Mr. Wells allowed them to play some technical pieces every now and then. We’ve yet to hear BCU play any type of technical pieces, other than marches. All bands play marches doing concert season, and warmups at football games, so those don’t count. I hope you didn’t expect them to win this battle, by playing the 2 song selections that they played here.

You sound like a hater. SU was okay but not that good. SU was louder but not as clean. Cookman needs more trumpets and tubas. BCU administration cut the band’s budget by $700,000 two years ago. They haven’t been the same. BCU is still a quality band.
