Hi Ross, question: why do you wait so long before you take surrounding towns? Shouldn’t it be better to take them and build them up (for money and creatures)?

The most likely answer is that I'm bad at the game. I think to more honestly answer your question, it's that I don't think I can mitigate the creature losses I would sustain while taking the town versus the longer term affect they might have on the early game. Another concern is resource management--I like to save my premium resources to build towards dwelling 6 creatures, and sometimes spending 20 Wood and 20 Ore plus 5,000 Gold hampers that kind of effort. It might be a poor strategy, but that's how I play the game. Open to suggestions for improvement!

I... Mistook the given map when given that comment? I mean, I stand behind the strategy, but I'm not sure it's fully applicable to this current map. I apologize.

@@KhelbensCoinTV Thanks for the response! The beautiful thing is that we can all play the game differently with all kind of better strategies. I enjoy your content, so thanks for that! Myself I have played HoMM2 in the past a lot and HoMM3 a bit as well. Recently started HoMM2 again (what childhood memories!) and then came across HoMM3 The succession wars. Believe me Ross, you have to check this out! It’s more or less the gameplay combined with some extra stuff with the HoMM2 (which I like the best) graphics! Please let me know what you think of it, I highly recommend it :)

1:26 spends time and resources to buy mage guild. Doesn't use it.

Forgot this isn't how mage guilds work in homm2. I may be rememebering homm3, or maybe they never worked like that and I just convinced myself they did because you have to actually visit them to buy spellbooks.

@@ToniBingi Yup! In HOMM2, a hero cannot learn new spells from Mage Guilds or Shrines unless they visit them AND have the requisite Wisdom level to learn them. No Wisdom = 1at and 2nd level spells. Basic Wisdom means 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level spells. Advanced means you can learn 1st-4th level, and Expert 1st-5th level. Heroes must have that skill when they visit a town or castle with those level Mage Guilds OR the First Order, Second Order, or Third Order Shrines in the adventure map when they visit those to learn any (and all) of those spells.

@@KhelbensCoinTV absolutely, sad it got cut cause low toy sales. Well to be fair those toys were absolute shite. Had an ioz figure. Damn thing fell apart pulling it out of the box >.>
