There’s something almost heroic about watching a piece of heavy machinery take on the toughest challenges. The way they conquer obstacles is beyond impressive.
Well hello my name is George I run a small operation in Melbourne Australia named All About Trees. Watching film of wood chippers on you tube I’ve noticed that most footage is set up and there isn’t footage of people feeding large pieces up to the rollers by hand !Working with a large Bandit lateley ive found you have to push qute a lot to reach the rollers . So here is a tip for all those challenged by heavy load pushing on feeder decks . Apply a generous film of grease on the section just prior to the rollers avoiding the first section which normally is the fold down table . This seems to improve the ease in pushing larger pieces for the roller to grab . I think this will help the stress of this part of the job and probably be a safer outcome both for the worker and quicker processing as pushing the last 50 centremeters can be a bitch!
