Its refreshing seeing an older fashiined build being done. For some of us this was the only way we could buy composites back then as actual build kits. Your doing awesome not that I had any doubt with as meticulous as you are in techniques. Love this. Nothing beats these BVM kits oe tgeir quality.
Looking forward to seeing this build. I got a well stored BVM Maverick i bought from a friend that I'm currently stripping all the old paint , gutting the entire airframe and converting to a Stumax electric.
Love these build videos! I wish I had the skills and tools to be able to do this! Regarding the scheme, I LOVE the Canadian Air Force CT-155 hawk with registration 155217! It’s the WW2 camouflage special scheme! Make it happen 😉
I remember seeing Bob Violet fly ~25(ish) years ago (I think I was in high school at the time) in Colorado. Most pilots were running ducted fans at the time, so to see him fly a turbine was amazing. He was a talented pilot and had a real passion for the hobby. I was blown away seeing his entire setup. Looking forward to following this build.
Hi Jon , wow, takes me back to my DF building service !! Loved building BVM Jet Kits , the Carl Goldberg Kits of the DF World !! lol Great vid , as always , mate Cheers Phil England
That seams to be a very nice project and very nice kit, I hope you will enjoy the build of this nice aircraft, I will send you also a scheme for painting, greetings from Remi
Really nice peice of kit ya have there 😅 this thread be interesting as ya going of the plans etc and bit more brain matter has been tasked to do so. Being of an age (the plane) 😮 I suspect you will be adjusting some things like servos at tail and rudder and not using those Sullivan rods. Right got my Beers lined up 😊 let's Go
Jonathan, when you paint this airplane, could you have some video of the painting process and actual footage of painting it? It would be amazing to actually watch you paint it. This looks like a complex build compared to today's ARF's. This is exciting!
If I may make a suggestion my friend instead of using a zip tie or wire I would recommend using clear fishing tackle line to attach the door to the landing gear …..
Thanks! Many can be made to be awesome EDF’s! There is a fellow here in Canada that has converted the large skymaster aircraft to EDF’s and they work great!
How will you power this? (20+?) years ago I built a BVM Maverick powered by a BVM fan and a Rossi .91. As I got out of the hobby, there were a few primative early turbine conversions, but nothing was available like today's turbine motors.
How do you make a living assembling rc aircraft? That shit is expensive and parts take forever to get ordered and received. I was in the wrong business…
