I am 35 and JUST now learning to make music thanks for this! I have fun with working with it. I am learning for fun as I want a new hobby. I also make short movies and wanted to be able to score them as i can't always afford to pay someone to compose. It's a lot fun!

Best instructional video I found on You Tube! I know nothing about daw recording and you went slow and methodically through it. Excellent teacher! Two questions I can't find. How do you save an original file without destroying or altering it after making a new one in bandlab? I have an older keyboard with a unique sound preset. If I create a midi file can I import it and use it instead of a virtual instrument and will it create audio when played back in bandlab?

Wow this is awesome! Your step-by-step is so easy to follow, thanks for posting. A couple of things I can't figure out is how to copy and paste a sound patch (vocal, drum, instrument, etc.) so that I can repeat it later in the song. Also how do I insert a bar or two, say an intro bar at the beginning of the drum track, and move all the tracks so they will stay aligned. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Quick question: I plan to make my own (amateur) audiobook for a really good friend because her dyslexia and ADHD get so bad that reading is challenging for her. Still, she would love to read this one story that I wrote for shits and giggles (roughly 100k words), but since the chapters are really long and reading is not a given for her, she´s finding it challenging to get through it. Her birthday is in a few months, and I wanted to surprise her by converting my book into an audiobook for her to listen to. Now, Bandlab is somewhat the only sound recording software I have yet to give up on because my scrambled brain cannot take layouts like Audacity (I´ve tried, I swear) or Garageband. My question is, thus, even though I know that Bandlab is primarily for making music, can it be used to record an audiobook and add in sound effects like a honking car, background restaurant noises or even make my voice sound like it´s on a call? It doesn´t need to be perfect, just good enough to give it to her as a present :)
