Hey bro I’m in England U.K. and I have a ginger American bandog and it’s my first dog and he’s still a pup at 13 weeks and I got him climbing stairs with treats but to come down stairs he’s still scared. I can tell he’s not strong in his back legs yet but he’s jumped up my bed a few times but can’t jump on chair or his own high bed. He looks bigger than this pup here. He’s a little biter haha he hates my English accent haha he keeps mocking me saying would you like a cup of tea haha. I also can’t get him on lead. He won’t move and looks scared and shivers. I’ve tried being by his side but he likes running free not far away from me so he’s close when u let him run around. I can’t wait for him to go on walks. He did his first pee outside yesterday. If he had done a shit I would of got bottle of Champaign out and celebrate haha. I called him Muska Leon Beagle. Also what for do you recommend I tried raw mince meat mixed with tin food and he kinda ate it but wasn’t mad on it I feel.

Hi I've had my female bullmastiff pit mix, otherwise known as a "bandogge". Not to be confused with the 800 year old breed, the Bandog which, is somewhat similar. Debatably the most difficult breed to train to be controllable off leash, is a bandogge or "bullmastiff staffy cross". Mine sure is. These are not normal dogs. They are extremely headstrong and impatient. They react poorly to negative reinforcement but your dominance cannot be questioned. Never hit or yell. The "No" word must be followed by reassurance of your acceptance of the dog within 5 to 10 seconds. Treat training is a fairly good shortcut for the initial lightbulb to go off but you must only use praise after the pup first gets it. That's hard advice because they friggin love treats. I never ask for a trick when she gets a treat...unless it's a first time trick and the pup's less than one year old. After that, treats are just treats, and praise is their sole motivation. Otherwise it's the dog's choice to obey or ignore. They know when you're displeased. They want to please. The big mistake most make with this breed is not spending enough time with full focus on the dog. Crate training method is also crucial. There's a lot to actual crate training. It's a tool that if you learn how to use properly all kinds of benefits ensue, from housebreaking to obedience to not learning bad habits and above all, you become the dog's world. I would not recommend this breed to anyone not willing and able to commit several full hours per day minimum, to the dogs behaviour modification and obedience for at least one and one half years! A lab mix you can teach to sit, lay down, come, and stay, and then just let it be a house dog. Your kids are safe, your neighbors and furniture are too...probably. Point is, most folks are only willing to commit at that level. With this breed, that is truly a dangerous mistake. I cannot stress that enough! These dogs continue growing in size and power, males for 6 years, females for four, until the end result is an extremely powerful, scary looking and formidable animal. To allow it a mind of it's own when you need it to obey? That, worse case, can potentially get; Someone, maybe a child, seriously injured, your dog killed, and you in jail. Best case is a 80-100 pound giant misguided missile that runs thru stuff instead of going around, will chew and tear shit up, get into the trash, and flip you off when off leash and you tell it to come, and it will probably end up knee-capping yerass. These dogs don't have to be unpredictable and uncontrollable but if you simply buy and forget? Each year, it will become more difficult to trust, and trust is absolutely necessary. For Bandogge's, that must be developed with seroius time and effort. Otherwise? Get a lab mix or hang on tight, 'cause that's gonna be a rough ass ride.
