use to bump this when I would help my mom at her second job at night , we would go in at 9 and come out at 12 , while we would clean I would listen to this and my mind would just go wild ..
@@TheOsski7 lol oh believe me I know. I spent many a night smoking weed and popping xans listening to icytwat. Best vibes ever. I just cant do that anymore due to circumstances.
@@RootcityMusic Well actually i just happen to have heard of all of them I'm a huge fan of FlyLo so I agree he does sound somewhat like him but sound-wise, Premo & Pete Rock.. I don't hear it. EU & Scott Xylo are dead on comparisons they're clearly similar stylistically they have those smooth textures & audio canvases that Icy uses also IMO.
Icytwat instrumentals always have this ethereal vibe. Vibes feel like they are alternate version of the past in the future. (Like in a dream) The image adds to it.
@@GenderBender72 I'd say that the true founding fathers of vaporwave are Yung Lean (father of cloud rap), Oneohtrix Point Never (father of proto-vaporwave and the concept of eccojams), Vaperror (godfather of cloud rap and father of postmodern vaportrap and vaporhouse), these people share a place as heavy influencers and main creative minds of proto-vaporwave, cloud rap, vaportrap, segahaze and post-vapor... As for artists like lordfubu, carti, icytwat, cyrax and the like, I'd call them cloud rap and modern vaportrap emulators, because they take the godfather's classic elements and apply really well thought out modern twists like higher quality sampling and basic beat construction with catchy lyricism allowing for a more mainstream audience to enjoy it more as opposed to OPN's choppy and experimental "eccojams vol. 1" LP and Vaperror's "Acid Arcadia" album compared to carti's - talk (icytwat remix) and Divine Council's "DB$B" plus many more pre and post 2015 Soundcloud mixtapes and singles. All of these artists are absolutely great and I applaud their contributions in the past to the vaporwave genre and all its subgenres and parent genres, they are all on the same highway, just different lanes..
I use to bump your stuff and still do back in 2014 thru 2018 when my homie fro was still alive those years where the best years of my life…thank you for making such good tapes and beats dawg🤞🔥❤️
Kinda upset that I can't listen to this on Spotify anymore... I guess I'll be adding plays to the RU-vid video instead. *clicks Loop button and goes back to work*
@@GreebVEVO I know you haven't seen this thread in a long ass time but when did Amen, Brother by The Winstons stop being the most sampled song of all time? I mean hello, the Amen break??? Edit: I'm completely open to being corrected here, hit me with it because that sounds wild to me but I'm here to learn
Please continue to keep it underground like this. You're making some gems, don't change your sound. I can hear the Reggae influence with the Bam Bam, pure bliss. I wonder if you're influenced by Jungle/Drum n Bass? Nuff respect from London
