Bane is my favourite villain because he is Batman’s physical and mental equal. Both of them grew up in circumstances beyond their control and one had nurture, the other didn’t and it’s such a cool contrast.
@@eatchas except it's relevant because bane has lost to batman like several times, but people only remember his one win which wasn't even him beating batman but his entire rogues gallery.
Please do more Bane! He is so underappreciated because of the movies and shows. He is by far my favorite villain and should be recognized for just how interesting he is!
I remember getting so pumped when he started adding all that tech to his bat suit, but it was also just as dope how Bruce in the end turned all that tech against him, luring him deeper into the bat caves, to finally defeat Jean-Paul Valley and reclaim mantle of the bat.
@@windubitably I was definitely disappointed with the end of his tenure. I was hoping for a physical confrontation that would determine who was the superior warrior. In the end…sunlight and talk-no-jutsu ended JPV’s iteration of Batman.
There is definitely an element of Bane that is very Kraven the Hunter like. He hunts Batman with almost the same intensity that Kraven hunts Spider-Man.
I always felt batman was shocked that not only was he tracked, discovered but also fully taken down. By 1 person with little effort. Thus it fully broke him mentally and even maybe inflict fear for the first time so that why he just took the beating
Yes Rob please continue the story! I like when you read for us, your intensity and inflection and such, during dialog and exposition is unparalleled! 💯
"We're doing borad strokes" My man, you are doing mile wide broad strokes. I'd be interested to see the rest of this series. I know what happens having been around comics, but I don't *know* what happens.
This brings back so much nostalgia. Living in the prairies, you dont get much comic book variety - but me and my friends managed to get our hands on most of the Knightfall/Death of Superman! Thanks for stirring some fond memories! xoxo skizz0tty
Great work, as per usual, my dude. It would be a daaamn shame, if you didn’t follow through with this story arc. It’s too good not to tell the whole story!
Thanks Rob for sharing the content I remember reading this comic watching the behind the scenes of The Dark Knight rises and listening to where they took inspiration from this comic.
Yes, continue, please. I tell people this is a good small run they can buy and it is a major arc in Batman cannon. It is also not that expensive to buy the full story just like the original Flashpoint run.
I would love it if you covered Knight's fall and Knight's end. Breaking the Bat was one of my favorite stories. Would love to see it all the way through when Batman comes back. Cover this please!
This was the 1st comic i ever bought, not the 1st read but during the time, Superman died outta nowhere... This event dropped a year later!!so classic!! My favorite batman story impossible to be done in live or animation
Great video rob, hope we get to see u cover more of the knightfall saga. Quick suggestion tho. Maybe u can use the image from heroes in crisis of bane breaking batman's back for the thumbnail?
To this very day Robb I want an animated version of this entire story. Knightfall Knightquest the Search The Crusade and KnightsEnd. I want them to copy Jim Aparo's artwork and many others who worked on this. If you remember, this whole story was a response to many Batman fans feeling like Batman had gotten boring. I believe DC Comics also wanted to capitalize on the Death of Superman Story arc as well.
When Bane says Batman was a disappointment I went "Bro, you fought him when he was close to his weakest point. It doesn't get more free and/or cowardly than that. You don't get to say he sucks unless you fought him when he was at 100% and still dominated him."
I remember when the Knightfall saga first dropped. No one saw this coming. Then, they stuck with it for a year. This saga was a better version of Superman’s Doomsday storyline. The build up to it was so under the radar. It was just masterful storytelling in so many ways.
I can still remember being 10 years old, getting on the school bus and my buddy looked disheveled. I asked him what was the matter and he handed me the comic with Bane breaking Batman's back. As a Batman fan, I was inconsolable.
This is for anyone who hasn't read it yet I absolutely recommend reading it for yourself the tension of this fight and the build up lead into one of the most devastating climaxes even if you already know the outcome
