In this episode we'll disassemble the Bang & Olufsen Beolab 4000 MK 2 version.
The Beolab 4000 MK 2 was released in 2007. Almost unintentionally, the major change was upgrade of the Digital ICE amplifiers to replace the AB type. The Digital ICE amplifiers provides better sound expression and improvement of the amplifier boards. Beolab 4000 MK 2 design remained unchanged, customers would not have noticed if B&O had not informed them of the differences between the MK1 and MK2 models.

The "foam" around the cables in 10:40. Isn´t it there to prevent the cables from ratteling against other components/chassi due to soundwaves and by doing so create unvanted noise? Just a thought...

Yes, I thing you have a theory about the sound waves. But the foam around the cables can also harm damages to the PCB boards over time. When the foam gets old overtime and dissolve the foam drops one the PCB Boards like the Beolab 1. Did you see my video for the Beolab 1?

Very good video thanks. I came here because I have the Beolab 4000 MK 1 with the foam issue. One question: my MK 1 has an RCA line input, did they remove that from MK 2. Can't see it in your video?

Yes, Bang & Olufsen had remove the Line in (RCA) inout for Beolab 4000 MK 2 Version. But you can still set the Beolab 4000 MK 2 in Left/right and line position. If you need help to fix your Beolab 4000 MK 1 you are more then welcome to contact us.
