20 years ago I found in my street dropped on the pavement a full system B&O 5500 amplituner, tape player, CD player and tangentiel turntable. I recently took it out of the attic. I knew the 4 elements needed attention. After viewing many reviews on RU-vid and purchasing missing parts like the turning aluminium platter, a mmc4 cartridge, a belt for the CD player, a pair of superb loudspeaker Beolab mc120.2 I am happy today to have saved these beauty from trash and to rediscover all my records cd and tapes. Everything is working as it should like in this video and the sound is just amazing.
Bang & Olufsen is always a piece of art and ahead of its time from design point of view. Not so from sound point of view and special for the money you have to pay.
Don't repeat some silly myth created by those unable to afford their products. In general the audio quality from B&O is good and some of what they do is really great. As a demonstration of what they can do they made an sublime active speaker for the 90th year, now it is not a cheap however even Stereophile was impressed. Don't believe me - do google the Beolab 90.
The audio quality from B&O systems was actually very good, true not as good as many other systems in it's price range at the time, but streets ahead of many midrange systems. It's also true that many of the internal components were more midrange than high end, such as the Philips CD mechanisms they often used but you were paying for style and design not just sound quality. B&O were, and still are, the Apple of the HIFI world.
@@bzdtemp Huhh.. From where are you know that i don't have B&O systems. I grow with them in my parents home and try later their turntables ended up to keep a BeoSound 2000 CD just for decoration in my living room. If you dive in quality audio B&O is to pure to keep up.

What you are hearing is influenced by at least the speakers connected to the 5500 system, the microphone used to record and how it is used, audio compression when the video is made and/or re-compression when uploaded on youtube, your audio setup ie. sound card, amplifier and speakers.
Gr8 designs from B & O 🎧📐 they were always forward looking & beautiful back in the day yet their style[s] still hold up. Btw, I always loved the sliding \docking mechanism of the tape deck (5000),,, one of these days I might just grab one on eBay if I can afford it. ...Good channel, I sub'd...was also digging ur video with the Beer_garden project. 🎯🚀🍸
