Either your English is poor or you are over confident with your word selection. Meat is part of an animal or a bird that people eat and it is not beef. Bull,cow, and buffalo flesh is called beef.

Meat is basically a word to determine if your category is vege and non veg.

I think meat is the common word to refer to the flesh of any animal .mutton stands for sheep, goat meat, beef for that of cattle/bowines like cow, oxen,buffalo. Pork for pig, venison for deer etc.
