we had over the ramp DD's at long eaton when it was going , sadly like most stadiums now, fallen under the axe of the beauraucrats , enjoyment police and health n safety , councils etc . but this when banger racing was banger racing . I no longer even spectate let alone race , because it's so expensive , too competitive and all the enjoyment has gone from it . great vid cheers for posting this .
Think i was there , I remember the Fiat 130 at 3.03mins , 331 Nick Linfield , they were a very fast car in their day , think it had a de tuned Ferrari engine , they rusted in no time though .
@@D...Charger Yep seems like yesterday mate, those old Austin 3 litres with their "Westie" engines were tough old barges and probably Nicks favourite choice.
@@D...Charger Saw an interesting video on him yonks ago, it's probably still out there somewhere, The Brighton Bashers used to rule at my local Arlington and "Retard" Roy Bramley used to try and take them on single-handedly, I remember at the start of a race he used to drive round the wrong way ! completely feerless that guy and yes great banger days.
@@nicnak4475 The nuttyest driver i have ever seen was Deane wood in his saloon stockcar at the old aldershot driving the wrong way taking out one of the georges..He was always good to watch.Brighton bashers in bangers were good warroirs were good too most started at smallfields actually my closest track and yet ive never been there. Was spoilt having wimbledon staduim 8miles away.great track that was too.
@@amelierenoncule my mum had a 60's mustang at the time so she didn't mind what he raced...as long as it wasn't the mustang...actually she raced bangers too..again not using the mustang
