Central World is historically one of the bigger shopping malls in Bangkok. It is the eleventh largest shopping complex in the world. I wanted to give and update how it looks now.
The size of CentralWorld 550,000 m2 (5,900,000 sq ft) of shopping mall and 830,000 m2 (8,900,000 sq ft) of complex.
Central World originally opened on 7 April 1990 and was called the World Trade Center. The closest BTS stations to the Mall are Siam and Cit Lom.

I AM A NUT CASE WHEN IT COMES TO SHOPPING MALLS AND THIS ONE IS JUST FANTASTIC! I WISH YOU COULD HAVE SHOWN US THE WHOLE PLACE! HAHAHA I KNOW THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE! HERE IN COZUMEL WE HAVE NONE! I was there in January 2010 and the mall was OK. I guess the protests occurred later that year although I returned in January 2011 and did not see anything unusual. Thanks for postings scenes in one of my favorite malls.

Nice walkabout. I don’t recognise the place now, haven’t been since 2010 (before the troubles). Used to go there a lot when in Bangkok, even when it’s still known as ‘World Trade Centre’ but in the past decade the appeal wasn’t there to make the trip. Cool vid man, take care 🙏😎👍🏻

I remember the burning as yesterday, now I realize that it’s already 11 years ago! They rebuilt it good and very fast. I like this Mall and Top,s Supermarket very much. The Mall is more for the middle class and upper class people. 🙏

Oh my goodness, I loved that mall so much, one of the best malls I have ever visited! Though I’ll never forget how we were almost threatened at the food court that you showed here over a seat! Other than that, there’s a hidden passage that connected the hotel and convention centre past the cinema which I thought was cool 😎

Thanks, Jeroen. I didn't know it has suffered fire damage! I always visit Central World; I just find these malls fascinating. Get your timing right and there can be interesting activities going on in the Plaza outside. For instance, in February 2020 Japan Expo Thailand was hosted there. So much to see and do. Even the local Cosplayers were there and that was a sight to be seen!

Nice that you spliced in some of the views from when Central World (World Trade Center) burned. Somewhere, I have videos of it still on fire. It took quite a few years for Central World and Big C across the street to re-open. I had a few reddish colored shirts that I used to sometimes wear back then but stopped when the snipers were shooting people on the street. Good to see the malls open and people starting to come back. Hopefully, enough people have enough money to spend.

I remember that spot where you ended the video, my colleagues and I liked to use that route from the BTS skywalk to get to the food courts and restaurants when we were on business trips to Bangkok. What's occupying the spot previously held by Isetan? And is the Kinokuniya book store still there?

Kinokuniya still here but its temporary moved to glass elevator zone, in 2022 will be back to isetan zone with more big size.

Central World has the best decorations during the Holidays and the best mall to exercise! Walked 20,000 steps in CW when bored. I remember they were doing major reconstruction on the top three floors back in 2018. Glad they tried their best to update/renovate/improve with the times. I wonder what they are going to do with Isetan now that they are gone? They should invest to build a zombie apocalypse security around the entire Mall to prevent what happened in 2010 by the Unruly Red Shirts storming through again!
