A Vlog of a journey from Bangkok to Saigon (HCMC) at the end of Feb 2020. Including the flight, buying a SIM card, taxi journey, hotel look and convenience store run on arrival.
NB. No footage from Suvarnabhumi airport as I was running late but it was eerily quiet due to the downturn in tourism.

This video was from a Visa run to Vietnam, where I stayed in the capital city of Saigon for a few days.
I visited at the end of Feb 2020.

That whole taxi ride scene had me laughing. Random punch stretch, coughing with no regard for Vinasun’s reputation getting passengers sick, topped off by aggressive driving and honking.

Im in Saigon now. Saigon just shut down all nightlife until further notice including bars, clubs, all massage parlors :'( , and theaters. Restaraunts are still open though. Times are gettin tough in this world.

@BKK112 - Mai Lin (Green) Taxis are also good. The best advice is to get only as small amount as you can from the airport ATM and then get the taxi to where you are going straight away before buying any SIM card or food. SIM cards can be bought in many places. 400k is more than 4 months for me with 2GB of 4G data per day and 50 minutes of calls a month (90k VND) on Viettel.

Vietel worked great for me while I was in Vietnam. I don't remember what I paid last time though. Seems in Thailand, AIS is the only one that my phone doesn't fight me to use so I just stick with it while I'm there. I could video message, my dad, just about anywhere with Vietel when I motorbiked from Saigon to Da Nang. No complaints from me.

taxi driver fist pump lol, most likely due to cramps in arm. coughing due to smoking and (air) pollution related, aka non corona....for claustrophobics that are noise sensitive...ear plugs work a treat

That sim is bullshit. I got a vietnamobile sim for 50.000₫ which has 2 GB per day and 50.000dong balance for 30 days. International calls are high rate. But domestic is very low You won't get these in the airport. You have to buy these in the streets. You may ask your hotel receptionist One more advice: drink vodka hanoi
