As an academic we never get the answer because the Bangladesh govt never reveals the numbers. They say millions and millions but still waiting for numbers. If the govt can reward in terms of monetary funds and jobs to the muktibahni families their children and grand children it's very easy to give list and numbers of martyrs during 1971 mayhem. Why the figures aren't revealed is obvious that the death toll is not the same as propagated. Yes many killed and injured and a blow to humanity.

Bangladeshi governments be it opposition or current political party has given these people more rights than they deserve. They supported Pakistani armies in 1971 war. If you have so much condolences for them, tell pm Imran khan to take them back as promised to them by Pakistan government. They are not Bangladeshis and will not be given citizenship. Also, by observing comments from all Indian/ Pakistani Muslims, all I can say is that Bangladesh is not Islamic Republic. Me and my citizens lead our lives based on the laws of people's Republic even though it is a muslim majority country.
