I don’t do editing so when my phone rang at 11 mins I just had to finish the video there - hence no ‘thank you, see you next time!’ at the end. Thank you, see you next time! ❤

Your analysis is on point, and i find it applies to a lot of the middle-eastern societies as well. Judging based on my traveling there and growing up in a western country. I most def agree with, "they would never write a note, they would just tell you up front." This applies to the middle east as well! Thats why i laughed when you mentioned that, because never in a million years could i see them EVER writing a note to that effect 😂😂. Peace be with you sis.

WOW. This feels so radical and so lifegiving! I so relate to the expectation to behave a certain way and get it right, and all the checking to be sure I'm getting it right. I'm only just now in my 40s starting to learn what it means to be myself and show up and not have to be a certain way, but here is a culture where that's just normal and how it is! I'm so glad you shared. I'm finding it hard to find the words, but I can feel this deep exhale, like PHEW, wow, how amazing for you to have experienced this! And it reminds me that when visiting my wonderful friend recently, the first thing I wanted to do was take a nap, I was so tired, and she said okay let's take a nap! So we both took a nap and then hung out and had a great evening. But if I were to visit anyone else that would just seem weird! Love love love this. Do you live in Bangladesh now?

Thanks I’m glad my sharing had that impression on you - to take a deep exhale! I did feel that way too! I don’t live in BD. I miss them all so much every day 😭

Ah I know I'm going to love this one. I've long had an interest in neurodiversity in different cultural contexts. Thanks for posting!

@@CNoor-dyspraxicmuslim yep, I'm American, primarily of Welsh, Portuguese, and Dutch heritage and have lived in the Exeter UK ages ago, when I was earning my MA degree. That was actually where/when I found out about Dyspraxia and that I'm likely Dyspraxic rather than having ADD per my previous diagnosis. I'll say this much, the US isn't very dyspraxic friendly and I can see how you would opine the same thing about the UK. But I think both respective countries not dyspraxic friendly in their own unique ways if that makes sense. I've also interacted in other cultural contexts where some of my dyspraxic traits don't seem to be as much of an issue as in mainstream Euro-American culture. When I was in Finland, for example my tendency to have long periods of silence in conversation was not as much of an issue as it tends to be among Americans.

Wow really! Ooh. Yes British are also very uncomfortable with silence! It’s a problem for me at times when I’m trying to speak and it takes me a few minutes to get the first word out but the other person gets bored of waiting or cuts me out of the conversation thinking I’m shy 😥

@@CNoor-dyspraxicmuslim Oh yes, I noticed that too how the British are just as uncomfortable with silence as are Americans. Must be an Anglophone thing. Many Americans, as in Euro-Americans primarily think that a person might be angry, or just uncomfortable in some way if one party in a conversation doesn't keep up a constant flow of verbiage. Interestingly enough, I have some Native American friends for whom bouts of silence in conversation are totally acceptable within their culture.

It’s a blessing to see first hand how different ways (like allowing silence) can work equally well or better than those we see in our own culture, in mutual understanding and enjoyment of connecting with others
