As the name suggests it has almost one crore shivlings, in varying sizes. There is even a shivalinga of size almost 100 feet.
It is approximately 95 km from Banglore city . It is a good drive with not many tolls and no traffic. We took nearly 2 hours to reach. The road gets narrow, bumpy and uneven around 27 km before the destination.
Pros:
Beautiful place to go with family. Amazing to see so many shivlings in one place.
The temple itself is spread in a big area with ample parking space.
You can get flowers and diyas just outside the temple for performing pooja.
Taking pictures inside the temple is allowed.
Cons:
Take your own food as there are no good eateries in the vicinity.
Entry ticket is Rs 20.
The priests insist on giving dakshina.
Do not go during summer afternoons as you might be unable to walk through the temple because the floor gets really hot. Try going in the morning or evening. Recently the temple has built shades to walk through but it is not sufficient.
