as a Vietnamese I dare to say that this is one of the most accurate Banh mi that was cooked by a western chef. From the looks to the ingredients, everything is on point. Except for the cold cut slices

This could be seen as the luxurious version of “Banh Mi”. But tbh, the traditional version one isn’t that complicated. My mind is overwhelming when seeing you love “Banh Mi”. Thank you ❤

As a Vietnamese student who just stick with Banh Mi as a part of his daily breakfast, I can confirm that you pretty much nailed that Banh Mi on a Michelin Level :’)) Banh Mi can be very versatile with it’s ingredients just like sandwhich but growing up, my kind of Banh Mi usually just stick with Eggs and/or with some pate, porkchop and maybe sausage for a change. This is accurate as well though, especially with the vegetables ingredients❤

As a Vietnamese the Vietnamese war saw the United States commit many atrocities and war crimes, my grandfather was a viet cong and once saw an American soldier kill a 12 year old girl and made her parents watch before burning the entire village down and taking them as prisoners of war, luckily the guerrilla warfare tactics and knowledge of the jungle coupled with raw ingenuity made sure those pesky Americans would never win. Anyways this Bahn Mi looks delicious and pretty authentic, gramps would approve. I could just picture him now eating this while regaling us young ones with a tale of slicing a U.S. soldiers throat from behind or catching a soldier in one of their many elaborate traps and listening to their screams, my favorite being a pit of spikes which were often defecated and urinated on to insure infection and a slow agonizing death. God how he loved a good Bahn Mi, this made me think of him thank you 😭❤️
