For those who saw my post credit scene in the "Toad Breaks Free" video, you may be wondering, "what ever happened to his Banjo tease?" Hopefully, this will answer any questions that you have. Banjo's reveal in Super Smash Bros Ultimate was one of the best reveals of all time! Sadly, all the work we weren't sure what to do with our Banjo mod we were working on!
I'm so grateful for the team who has been incredibly helpful putting this together.

Since we started Banjo, our animation process was... 1. Start with rough animations 2. Adjust timing, since all BKs animations are quite slow 3. Polish the newly timed animations. We had no idea Ultimate had a release around the corner! We were barely past step two when production was basically halted! What do you think of the differences? The similarities?

Pretty good! However a bit robotic. Hopefully you can somehow work Ultimates chipper idles and movement into the game! I also thought if you hold down air it can double as a Bill Drill :)

This is fantastic but just because he exists in Ultimate doesn’t mean you guys should lose confidence or motivation I feel he could still be unique from his Ultimate counterpart, I mean just look at the SSF2 Team, They made a version of Simon Belmont very unique from his Ultimate counterpart without knowing he would be in that game

I like this better than ultimate, and I love love LOVE ultimate. I think you've done a better job capturing the character and really it just needs polish. A lot of polish, but still. Amazing work

As a banjo main i like this recovery better than ultimate. I do, however, like that in ultimate he’s not a straight forward brawler. The Kazooie ability change is great! I’d take that over WW 100%

Honestly ai'm really intereted in this mod for the talon trot alone. It made sense in ultimate as a simple dash animation, but your idea of it being a transition into a bunch of different moves? Amazing. Keep up the great work.

One thing I enjoy about the modding community is how extra they all are when it comes to the roots of a character and how the moves actually function in-game In ultimate (like any smash game really) he feels like a tribute to what he used to be while referencing the moveset and taking creative liberties on their implementation (see ultimate Banjo's up and down smash for example) but this one feels as if the moves were taken straight out of the game and implemented into smash Can't wait to see the finished product!

I'm not even a Banjo fan, but this is how I thought he would have played in smash before we got Ultimate Banjo. This actually has me more hyped than I thought I could be for Banjo, especially with him already being in an official smash. Very impressed :-)

Amazing work, a perfect example of a great moveset, faithful, unique and no rng or counters. All great game design you should be really patting yourself on the back for this one.

@@KingBobStudios Making mistakes is the fastest way to learn. so testing it and putting it into practice and knowing why exactly rng is bad from your own mistakes makes you smarter then anyone else complaining about it. So you know its a mistake you wont make again :) I think its great how you have changed through criticism.

My gods do I love this and the team involved too! THIS is what ultimate banjo should have played like, i can genuinely see the love and passion for the source material represented here. The biggest plus being that its for my favorite fighting game on top of that. Project m will always be my go to way to play smash

I loved this showcase so darn much, all the special nooks and crannies you added to the moveset and stuff were wonderful, I kinda like this moveset a little more than the Smash one (even if I adore the Smash one). Either way, can't wait to see them in action! You're one of the most talented modders out there, and I really support your work! (Also DUDE IS THAT CASTLE DEDEDE FROM KIRBY 64? I love it! )

Even with the characters being in Ultimate such as Banjo, Piranha Plant, etc., it's cool to see how fans would interpret them into smash. This looks Banjo looks really cool and I'm excited to see what the final product will turn out like.

I really appreciate the effort put into this even in the face of the official reveal! I dig the work already done so I'd like to suggest some criticisms to the model to make Banjo-Kazooie look better: - I feel Kazooie's wings should be bigger as they're somewhat too small visually, and also her wings were pretty big in the original game anyways. - I'm not fully aware of the style of colors the other mods are using but I think Kazooie could use more brighter colors as she looks a bit dull, even compared to Banjo and others. - Banjo could use some eye expressions for his attacks and injury animations as he looks kind of glassy eyed. - I noticed Kazooie has a black void for a mouth in the thumbnail so I think it would look better if it were colored/textured instead. I hope any of these are useful to you, and I'm stoked to see you guys buff out the rough spots and finish this great project!

I didn’t even know this was a thing. Amazing work! I really wanted banjo in melee back in the day so this will be great to be able to wavedash and waveland with banjo and do all that fun melee movement. Once again awesome job!

I think making these kinds of videos, and working on these projects shows microsoft and Nintendo that a new Banjo game would be successful because it has a HUGE fan base. All the time I was watching this, I was shaking. That's how hype I am. The fact that banjo runs on his own and has the talon trot for the down special with other added moves is magical to me. I didn't know the moves from the actual games almost perfectly replicated can combo really well. They have the combo potential of literally no one i've seen. I gotta be honest here. This moveset looks way more fun than the ultimate moveset. Thank you for staying motivated and making this somewhat finished. You truly are the best brawl modder

Really great work! I would not complain if this was the ultimate moveset. You should know that your Banjo version amazed me like in all the banjo release videos. I'm sure a lot of people woul freak about how good you designed them. So you would have made a lot of people really happy with all your effort. You/ your team did a really great job on this!

Talon Trot as down special was something I was not expecting, but it is very interesting! I hope wonderwing is incorporated in some way because that is my favorite move in the original game - maybe just as his shield animation or something subtle. I am sooo happy you incorporated the beak bomb though, I always loved ramming into the snowmen in Freezeezy Peak and Click Clock Wood and I know I am going to enjoy it in smash. Thank you for giving my first good memory in 2020!

duuuuude, this is dare i say WAY better than ultimate's banjo and the fact that you can lead into other attacks with certain moves makes me prefer this over banjo in ultimate. can't wait for this

I just wanted to say, I think I prefer your version of Banjo-Kazooie than the one from Smash. Don't get me wrong, Smash BK is amazing and very well done, I like it a lot. But your version included what I believe are some important movesets of the character. e.g. being able to glide as when using the Fly panel. I remember each level of the original game changing drastically when I could move around just flying. And the additional combo if used while down-B is active makes it look like very fun to use. And the "shooter Mode" of Smash BK.... sounds good on paper, and it's a good reference, but most of the times I don't even use it. I'm very happy you are still working on this. And don't let Smash BK let you down, because yours is very unique

I love that you used Pack Whack as down smash. Honestly I envisioned it as their F air but that makes a lot of sense. The worst thing you can do with these kinds of mods is just to try to import the official character and I love it when they just get creative with the move set.

James V don’t get it twisted I’m so happy Banjo & Kazooie are in smash bros, I was screaming to the top of my lungs when I was surprised with the 2nd character reveal I love his animations, I love spiral mountain, I love the remixes, I love how they brought back the classic design, I just don’t like how banjo plays unfortunately

Im glad you decided to go through with this Mod despite the Ultimate announcement, Banjo in current Smash is cool but theres something a little Off about him... your version feels closer to the true Banjo Kazooie we could have expected for the earlier games

Characters can't fly because it's Ultimate and not Brawl; and Pack Whack is Banjo solo move without Kazooie in the backpack.

This is amazing... this is what the moveset should've been like! Takes cues from even more moves from the series and doesn't use generic attacks to fill in certain slots! Hands down would've made Banjo & Kazooie more fun to play as.

Like how his moveset is a mix of original banjo kazooie moves, smash ultimate banjo moves, and mario moves since banjo kazooie takes lots of inspiration from mario 64 this feels like if banjo was in Sm4sh and i love to see more from you this is amazing (also hope u can make a Ninten from Mother 1 mod)

I LOVE IT TO DEATH AND THE FACT THAT YOU MADE A FULL DOCUMENT ABOUT IT AND HOW WELL BANJO MATCHES THESE MOVES FROM THE RESPECTIVE GAMES REALLY SHOWS HOW MUCH LOVE WAS PUT IN THIS!!! Its mind boggling how cool this is and its not even a copy from ultimate, you guys made banjo all from scratch and i respect that.... OML THIS IS SO COOL!!! 👌👌👌👌👌👌 One more thing i know you guys are lacking motivation for him ever since he was announced... But i want you to know that banjo looks way more fluent in this mod, he looks faster, he's more versatile, and the moves match up more in this game then ultimate. I can't wait for this

This is what Banjo-Kazooie were supposed to be more of in Ultimate. you really shouldn't be bummed out, cause in my honest opinion, you beat nintendo in terms of quality. the only real thing i can say any form of yikes to is the model, but even then, that thing must've been made from scratch for brawl so full props, my guy. you and your team deserve a jiggy.

When I saw the "bomb attack" when B&K were flying, I cried of happiness, I always imagine B&K had that move, and in the trailer (if it were one) they use it to get in the stage
