I saw this opening cutscene for the first time a few hours ago. It was FUCKED UP. I mean, Banjo's house gets dinged pretty bad, and Bottles dies... Just... man, for a kids game, that cutscene just made me cry a bit...
Totally fucked me up as a kid!! Skeleton Grunty traumatized me, especially since I didn't even beat the first game but somehow ended up with the second! I still have a bias against Tooie, love the original though!
It’s always creeped me out that Grunty technically died after being trapped under the rock and decayed to a skeleton. This whole sequel took a much darker turn than the original.
11:11 Interestingly, there is a subtle reference to Super Mario 64 as the image of Gruntilda closing the scene accompanied withd her laughter is used instead of Bowser's. The same can be applied to this game's predecessor: Banjo-Kazooie.
That's because the games music was paced and timed to the N64 cutscene. The N64 was notorious for lag, so the music had to be made around it. When played on the 360, the console's processor is processing the data much faster than the N64 was capable of, getting rid of that lag. This causes the video to continue without any slowdowns, while the music stays at the same speed with the same timing. The only way to fix this would be to re-record the music, or program in simulated lag. Both are hard and cost time and money. Things Rareware and Microsoft didn't see fit to spend on the franchise.
Yes. Extraordinarily annoying. Typical Rareware after the Microsoft purchase. Absolutely Lazy. Look at the Conker's Bad Fur Day on the Xbox, where, despite the greater processing power, the animations are grossly watered down and static.
There was a lot of dark stuff in N64 games that wouldn't fly for a rated E game anymore. Ocarina of time with the red blood, Under the Well, Shadow Temple, and then the entirety of Majora's Mask for example
Holy crap. I didn’t understand what the hell happened to bottles and Banjo’s House when I skipped the cutscene while playing it on Xbox One. I should’ve watched the whole cutscene 😨 I also feel bad for bottles, he didn’t really deserve to die 😭😭😭
Bottles: losses poker Jeez they should cal this game bottles freakin dies! Bottles:Loses LIFE Jeez they should have called this game bottles freakin dies!
The lighting and shades were impressive at the time. But this was the time N64 life cycle coming to the end. And then we get Conker’s Bad Fur Day (Formerly Conker’s Quest And Twelve Tales) And it was popular but despite the ending N64 gratefully. Then Microsoft brought Rare in 2002 and making games that are mediocre like Grabbed By The Ghoulies. And.......... We got Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts. How wonderful to see Rare again someday like it’s former glory days like Klasky Csupo should come back.
It’s the fact that grunilda is so power she literally created all the worlds that were in her lair. And she may have just destroyed all the entrances to those worlds forever as of the destruction of her lair.
Honestly it's a bit rich, coming from an anastrophe-talking witch! At least in the car building one, Mingella is finally gone! And our favourite witch can rhyme again, Which to me is a massive gain!
i remember playing this the first time and my expectations were very different, i thought grunty would be the same as last time, i was dead wrong as she is very dark in this one
The long intros in N64 games plus my emulator's lag at recording are some of the reasons I only record 2D games (Actually, there are the only reasons…)
Now THAT is definitely NOT for children. FERST, they're FUCKING GAMBLING AND KAZOOIE IS FUCKING PICKPOCKETING BOTTLES AND MUMBO Then Bottles died... Bottle fucking died man... He's dead... AND THAT'S JUST THE FUCKING BEGGING.
I have a question why do they call it tooie if it’s still kazooie or is it later that they change and what happened to kazooie if so. I didn’t play this one so I don’t know
Disgraceful how the Xbox version had the music out of sync - you just can't do that!!! It's like watching a movie and having comedy music over the tragic scenes. Really disrespectful way to treat the composer and the game. Thank goodness it only affected the opening cutscene (as far as I know). But I cannot watch the Xbox version, I have to watch the n64 original cutscene because it is so bad - and they never fixed it!!!!!
