Banks are becoming less reliable than in the past. The looming banking crisis is expected to be significant and devastating for those who are not ready. I recently withdrew $370k from my bank to invest in bonds and stocks of companies with strong cash flows. I think it's a great opportunity to seize the market for long-term profits. Any suggestions for promising stocks would be welcomed.

Buffett said at his annual shareholder meeting that he thought our massive growing national debt would require the capital gains tax to increase substantially so he wanted to take profits before that happened... If capital gains tax goes from 20% to 28% while the market drops, he will look pretty smart.

I am a little worried about growth projections of funds i kept in a HYSA north of $80k, I aim to avoid FOMO and look at buying at the dips. Am I better off investing into Gold as it seems stocks are a little too unstable right now?

The failure of banks on 2008 was a troubling sign just how bad they’ve screwed thongs up. The failure of banks in the beginning of 2023 was a good sign they never fixed the problem but made it far worse and theres more to come.

im a commercial real estate broker and I can say one thing. Commercial real estate in general is just completely OK. It's only offce buildings that are struggling. Retail , industrial, multifamily and specialty CRE are doing just fine. Deals still getting done regularly with minimal price discounts. Ya there are some issues with loans coming due, but in most cases the market is liquid.

Jeff does a very good job at disseminating the bad market news but I don't have the kind of money it takes to have a major portfolio to manage and take advantage of this kind of news. It all sounds like an eventual market crash and continued dollar debasement so this says to me "eventual, gradual, flight to quality." For me, especially looking at relocation away from now communist Canada, Bitcoin is my asset of choice. The way I see it, with the political situation in Canada, I may be dropping my phone in the garbage can in the men's room at the airport before boarding a plane for Central America. Sending your gold ahead to your new home only telegraphs your destination to your "competitors" where they may seek to continue to try and convince you that communism is the way and that your gold "belongs" in Canada. Bitcoin silently waits for me on the blockchain where buying a new phone, loading my wallet app and enerting my seed phrase quietly gets me access to my money instantly.
