I love the fact that kenpachi was so strong that they decided to just not teach him zanjutsu so he wpuldnt become unstoppable in the event he turned on them 😂 like imagine being so strong that you personally limit your abilities with bells and an unnecessary eyepatch, and youre still too strong so youre forbidden from learning how to properly use your weapon 😂 truly an absolute monster that man is feared by fear itself 😂

I wish they hadn’t dropped the detail where once you reach bankai, you no longer need a release command for shikai. Renji did it once and then they just never touched that again. I get that the shikai releases are very cinematic but I feel like being able to surprise use shikai is a cool ability, like imagine Byakuya just swinging his zanpakuto, and just as the opponent puts up his own to block, he silently releases senbonsakura and basically just phases through the blocking zanpakuto.

Slight correction. Every ASAUCHI was created by Oetsu. The Vasto lorde Zanpakuto aren't formed from/with Asauchi but from their spiritual power manifesting into a weapon shape as a reverse of the Shikai release second form before their "Bankai" Reresection form final release back into their more natural hollow primal form.

Zaraki got in on a technical loophole in squad 11. Because squad 11 is a purely combat squad, the captain has to be the strongest fighter. Therefore, anyone who can beat the Kenpachi in a battle to the death takes up their office. Zaraki killed his way to the top. Then he kept on killin. The man lives for the grind.

Zangetsu, after the blade is broken and reformed, is technically always in shikai form, the giant cleaver.

It's interesting, because there are actually forms beyond Bankai. I'm not talking about the mobile game versions. Both Aizen and Ichigo achieve this form at a point. After Ichigo goes through the Dangai his Zanpakuto is fused to his arm, Aizen also goes through a transformation like this when he is ascending. I believe this form represents the perfect bond of the Shinigami and Zanpakuto finally becoming one being. Further evidence is that after Aizen returns to his "shinigami" appearance and is sealed he no longer has his sword. While still sealed he puts Yhwach under Kyoka Suigetsu and while fighting the man seems to materialize his sword out of nowhere. He is his sword.

A couple things: Since when did BG9 have a Zanpakuto? He's a Quincy...probably. We don't really know what he is, but he has Quincy powers. His Gun is a "Bow". Ressureccion is thought to be Bankai equivalent by the Arrancar simply because they don't know it's the first of two states, as confirmed by Ulqiorra and Ressureccion Segunda Etapa.

i've never seen nor read bleach and i only have a basic idea of how some of the characters look like - watching this video and reading some of the comments here felt like discovering a completely new language, but i enjoyed it.

Actually there is 2 other unnamed levels beyond Bankai shown by Aizen and Ichigo. We can see it in Dangai Ichigo where the Zanpakto starts merging with the user and becomes part of Ichigo's arm, also shown in Aizen's form. And the 4th stage that represents Mughetsu is when a soul reaper and the Zanpakto become one and the same, also shown with Aizen after the fight with Ichigo in the final arc. This can explain why we didn't see Aizen's Bankai because he was already on a level beyond it.

I have 2 corrections. first, a weapon isn't necessary to fight a hollow. instead, a zanpakuto's purpose (aside from the power boost) is for soul burial and soul purification. secondly, arrancar only have a facsimile of zanpakuto. the difference is that arrancar 'zanpakuto' are their own power sealed into a weapon, not a seperate spirit that mirrors them and gives them power

My two favourite Zanpakuto are Mayuri Kurotsuchi's (as instead of unlocking his normally like everyone else, he biologically and spiritually 'hecked' and 'modded' himself and his Zanpakuto), and Tokinada Tsunayashiro's Enrakyoten (as its basically the Sharingan Zanpakuto, as its powers are basically the Sharingan's copying ability).

Zaraki kenpachi didnt became a cpatain just bc it forced it way in and its to strong even tho he doesnt have a bankai (back then) its bc in his squad there is a type of rule where if you kill the previous captain on the squad you can take his place and became the next captain this is why he got there even tho he doesnt have a Bankai .

Don’t forget Zangetsu is always in a released Shikai state and I don’t know about you guys but I don’t remember his Shikai release command. Also technically I don’t think Ichigo needs to even pour his Quincy Riatsu into Zangetsu to use Bankai I think it just gives him more, I also saw a theory a while ago that Ichigo’s type of Zanpakto is Hollowfication and he is Pretty much the Next Soul King (like reincarnation of him) as Yhwach puts it he has limitless Potential because of his heritage

To have a Bankai you need a shikai, and to have a shikai you need a Zanpakuto, and to have a Zanpakuto you need an asauchi... As we will soon learn in the next episode of Bleach : ) Unless your the MC, apparently, then you can have a pseudo Bankai (and the rest) because... fuck you, Ban - Kai!!

I do think if there is a continuation of the Bleach universe (say the hell arc and beyond) there is a possibility that there could be something "beyond" Bankai. The Shikai is learning of your Zanpakuto spirit, the Bankai is subjugation of that spirit, they COULD do something such as a step above that where you learn to cooperate fully and/or merge (like mugettsu) to make something even more powerful as you are no longer split just using their power but combining your powers.

Pretty sure Shinigami predated the Academy. Even if just by a little. To be fair, we don't know how much time passed between the separation of the worlds and when Soul Reapers started traveling to the living world to reap souls and kill hollows. I'd measure since the academy/court guards is younger than the OG Quincy war, the Shinigami were traveling back and forth prior to that at the order of the "Soul King"

In interesting video idea that came to mind that hasent really been talked much about is exploring how ichigo got/created his zanpakuto. Cuz he dint get a asauchi from the academy. dude just created his from raw reishi and made it into his sword. Granted that could be a a thing substitute soul reapers can do, but it should be a fun topic to have a deep dive on.

To be fair. The beyond Bankai versions of the characters were original artwork by kubo. I would say that warrants “half-cannon” atleast

Technically Ichigo never had a zanpakuto until having his true zanpakuto forged in TYBW arc. Zangetsu was a blade similar to a Quincy's spirit weapon because Old Man Zangetsu was suppressing White - Ichigo's inner hollow that had fused with his shinigami power. It's a moot point because White is a hollow created from the souls of Shinigami, much like how asauchi are created, so you could still call White some kind of zanpakuto. Just not one Oetsu forged.

I’m here researching about zanpakuto and bankai so I can make my own.

There is another stage besides Bankai and that is Dangai . The sword and the owner must share a word that unlocks every sigle ounce of power from both beeings , but once used said shinigami loses his powers forever and the sword dissapears . More or less a Baryon Mode Naruto type deal . But there is a small chance that if you live enough the powers will come back and the example is Isshin Kurosaki who also used Dangai and slowly regained his shinigami powers , but i dont know if its just a fluke or does every shinigami regain powers after using Dangai .

11:17 sort of incorrect because there is another level but I think only 2 characters have achieved it. And that’s fusing with your Zanpaktou fully as it is an extension of yourself. Aizen achieved this artificially with the Hogyoku with Kyoka Suigetsu and we see he’s able to use its abilities at will and summon the blade when he wants in TYBW while Ichigo fused once during his Dangai and Final Getsuga Tenshio forms then later when his blade was reforged in TYBW. And while not cannon but possible “what ifs…” Bleach Brave Souls mobile has possible designs and concepts expanding on this concept. Like the “Beyond Bankai” characters who have fused with their blades or in special cases, a fully trancendend Aizen with his own blade “Mirror Flower Water Moon” and the Hogyoku. Not cannon to the current story but still showing how it’s possible in the Bleach Universe especially since I believe Tite Kubo had a hand in the designs and artwork as well. So the concept of this final fusion with your blade is definitely a thing but just so few in the Bleach universe have actually achieved it

Idk if the arrancars have zampakutos, I think homie from squad zero gotta give it to you. The arrancars swords didn’t have names, or shikais or bankais, it was like there powers were sealed in a form of a sword, that’s why their transformation was called a “release” form/state. Only like hallibel and barragan had “swords” before aizen, aizen gave them shinigami powers but the zampakutos were given to shinigamis by the squad zero dude. Also stark never had a sword.

Technically an arrancars bankai is the second release since the resurreccion is the first release of the sword so a segunda etapa would be a arrancars bankai and brings them closer to what Hollows originally looked like in the original world. Some people theorized that a resurreccion may be the power boost of a Bankai while a etapa is a power boost of a shikai ontop of the resurreccion being the inverse of shinigami's. But one thing remains clear someone going into a Etapa form loses their Hollow mask entirely just look at Ulquiorra unless those horns counts as bits of a hollow mask hell even Ichigo takes a similar form at the end of the series with the horn of salvation and pale porcelain skin while no Hollow mask

Nameless swords dont need you to be just powerfull to get a shikai . you need to put spiritual pressure and also time . if it was just power there re many characters who should have a shikai the moment they touched there swords like Zaraki , you need to pour your soul and spiritual pressure to it to create a shikai

Kenpachi took an asauchi not a zanpakuto. Zanpakuto spirits dont look like you, they ARE you. It's your soul you put into the asauchi and thus nothing other than you can be born inside it.
