Nice! Good paused reps. I had bad luck with my bench after getting the 142,5 kg for 8 non paused reps, I got sick and could not go to gym for 2 weeks. Today I did 152,5 kg for one rep where I had to lift my butt of the bench to get it up. I lost so much strength.
Thank you! I feel you bro! I've had to deal with a similar issue a little over a month ago. Caught a cold, lost weight and couldn't train. When I got back I couldn't believe how much strength I lost. It sucks! However, the good news is that it comes back. It just takes a month or so but you will be back and continue making progress in no time. I know the feeling when you have to lift your butt of the bench to grind out a rep. But, like I said, it just takes a while to build up strength and solid form again. No worries! On another note: I've been thinking about going back to touch and go reps again. I'm unsure if I'm hindering progress by insisting on this short pause.
@@tycho103 It could help for sure some lifters swear by always pausing every rep but I feel like changing things up can be good stimulus for the nervous system.
