I found this song 4 years ago and I STILL listen to it all the time. It’s brand new every time. It’s timeless. A treasure. Thank you BANKS for your continuous artistry. Love, a fan- forever.
I don't even know how the hell I found Banks, but boy I'm glad I did. There's no other singer or band that makes me feel like she does. It just touches me so personally, in a place that I shield away from everyone (or rather shield everyone away from it), kind of in my secret personality. Hope she has a long and successful career ahead of her!
+JcGross A friend of mine just introduced me to this song and this girl...After so many years she still gets me like we've never lost touch! The parts I've hidden are now open and exposed and because of this song I am ok with that..
+sorrowsmiles13 that's beautiful i'm glad that you were able to express it out. you said it perfectly. yeah we should be okay with that, it helps us heal when we face those things we hide.
I honestly find Banks to be one of the most beautiful humans both spiritually and physically. Like I just want to fall in love with her and love her forever. I don't even know her, and maybe we wouldn't get along, but I can just sense something magical abuot her. She's incredible.
Lyrics: But it's all the same I could have foreseen That you would act like you are Oh so cool you seem Blending with that scene Wearing what you think is hard I can see you struggling Boy, don't hurt your brain Thinking what you're gonna say Cause everything's a game Always trying to calculate Trying to look smart but not too smart To threaten anything they say But it's all the same I could have foreseen That you would act like you are Oh so cool you seem Blending with that scene Wearing what you think is hard I can see you struggling Boy, don't hurt your brain Thinking what you're gonna say Cause everything's a game Always trying to calculate Trying to look smart but not too smart To threaten everything they say
She is actually a pretty good songstress in terms of making pop that actually isn't lyrically meaningless or vapid. The only thing that holds her back from a career writing for big artists is actually a good quality: the distinctive, haunting sound of her music.
Jillian has grown so much in these years: The maturity in her voice, the quality of the lyrics and her music. But that's just the way she's been since 2014. She has been always a global treasure.
Banks, you have never left my music list. I went through so much pain, healing and strength with this album. Can’t believe it’s 8 years old. I’ve been out of that old relationship 2 years now, and I still feel this heavily. Bless you!!
I've known this song for over a year because it's fucking amazing and depicts the eventful progression of soft emotion to and explosion of frustration so well. BANKS is phenomenally talented. Whoever this "pole dancer" is that made this song all that more known, props to her.
She reminds me similar to Lykke Li, Lorde, Marina and the Diamonds, Ellie Goulding, Florence and the Machine, Little Dragon, Phantogram kind of style; she so awesome. Love this girl.
Jordan McDonald I'm with you, all these youngster are only into these rat infected artist like Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, 1D, etc., I prefered these singers who are not well known like her.
***** I agree with both of ya'll. The generation of today has no idea what's real music. I'm in love with underground artists, they're are the best...and secretly unstoppable.
That moment when someone you've been supporting from day one makes their dreams come true and you're just marveling at her raw talent and grace😊 she's my idol, since 2013😀 Jillian Banks, you're finally here!!!!!!😀
I hope she gives a major shoutout to that chick pole dancing on facebook because I instantly picked up this album after hearing this track. Banks has my vote so far for R&B album of the year. I didnt feel the need to skip one track. Amazing album and great production.
Why would she shoutout the pole dancer plenty of people knew and loved this song before her haha who cares about how you discovered it. That's u dude. Anyways I agree about album of the year although FKA twigs and the weeknd were also really great
Gabby Port i would have never know about this artists music if it wasnt for the bad ass dancer..she is wonderfully talanted and interpreted banks beautifully and tastefully expressed.
I remember listening to this with my first love 6 or 7 years ago. Him intruducing me to banks, was one of the first impressions. Wish him all the best.
I adore this song, due to the lovely and mental meaning beyond the surface. It is incredibly deep and ear-catching, the lyrics are beautiful and they have a healthy meaning, if I can call it like that. I actually find myself in all her songs, because they are life-related and they even catch my soul, I love her so much :) Her songs are pure gold and pure intelligence!
She has such a unique sound that is just so beautiful. I've started listening to a lot more alternative and indie kind of music, because all that shit they play on the radio is just garbage.
I found her at a time when I started to awaken to my Goddess self. It is a pleasure to sit still and hear your innerself in lyrics, but it is beautiful to see yourself in another. She is dynamic. I am dynamic, and that makes us powerful! Cheers to the Divine Feminine magical❤
I have been listening to this song for years. Whenever I get new headphones this is one of the first songs I listen to because it is so dynamic and the fucking bass is incredible. Banks Brain for the win.
***** I saw her live yesterday! Except you could see on her face that she was sad because she could only sing three songs since she was having technical difficulties. :/
Soren High sent me here years ago with her amazing pole dance routine... been hooked on her ever since. Glad to see that shows in the U.S are using her songs. Her concept of music is pure and amazing ❤️😩❤️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
***** The aforementioned video brought my here and I am now hooked on this song. I will also explore other songs by Banks as well. I disagree with your statement that The Weeknd is 1-Dimensional. I've been following the Weeknd for years and his recent success in the mainstream music following has been great for his career! Listen to his old mix-tapes grouped up into Trilogy, Loft Music is a personal favorite. Then listen to his album Kiss Land and the variance he portrays in his music. Pretty and Odd Look from Kiss Land are favorites as well. Either way, The Weeknd has a lot of talent, and his future is bright. Hopefully Banks will find great success as well.
I'm like in another space when listening to this with my headphone and full screen, the music video is goddamn awesome. it suits with the song. Why did i just found Banks? I think I'm a fan now.
I love how she just rips this guy to pieces and tells him not to hurt his brain, like he isn't capable of thinking for himself. Individuality always trumps conformity. Always! Maybe I should send these lyrics to my ex... :)
