My dad loved Peter Gabriel, and he passed away a few months ago. I always associate this song with him, and I hadn't listened to it since he fell ill. I left my RU-vid on and this cover came on, and I am literally crying, because she does it much justice.

This song is incredible. I literally feel as if the rhythm, the gentle rasp of the vocals, is reverberating within me (particularly during the chorus). Now that is music.

Honestly I came into this expecting not to like it all that well, because I'm a big fan of Peter Gabriel and the original song, and not so much of modern artists reimagining classics. But I'm kind of fascinated by this version. Where PG's version seems sort of warm and saturated with life, this one feels cold and radiates emptiness, in a way that I think was intended. Very interesting take on it to me, and I'm sure I'll be giving it a few repeated listenings.
This is EXACTLY what i was thinking. I love the dark, soulless drowned out take of a song that was originally designed as the opposite. The pinnacle of music really.

This song is perfect. Really perfect. It expresses the beauty of love, of desire and an access of some kind of paradise. It gives me chills when I listen it. It's been 6 months that I discovered this beauty and I still can't get enough. Thank you BANKS.
It's better than I thought it would be; Peter Gabriel tunes are hard to cover, since they seem purpose built for certain kinds of dense arrangements (which he specializes in), but this takes a radical enough approach that it comes out quite good.

I did one of my English papers in year 12 to the lyrics of this song (obviously BANKS’ version). Everytime I hear this song it makes me so emotional going back to those times of my life, how much I absolutely adore Jillian and how her music helped me through, and the lyrics too. In love always.

Her EP is coming out in the fall. She said she'll probably have an album out by the beginning of 2014, but she wasn't sure about the date. Hope this helps!
