for the people that changed and arent cheating anymore it doesnt really matter cos in the server rules it states you arent allowed to play on the server if you have prior gamebans and for the association bans the teammate knows the other person is cheating 90% of the time and even then the ban from the server will be temporary so if they're truly innocent after like a month they can go straight back on the server completely fine. obviously yes on the odd chance someone completely innocent gets banned it is a little unfair but then again teaming with a complete random you've sorta gotta accept that theres a chance they cd be cheating since youve literally never met them before (edit: also thought id mention that a lot of the time association bans are because they have the cheaters game banned accounts added which means they knew they were cheating from previous wipes)

@@lewk6329 Prior game bans are a bit much for rules, let's say someone cheated like years ago, not even on rust but some other game but have a game ban from like csgo 5 years ago, that seems ridiculous to have that in a rust server rule, for the association thing they could end up meeting in game and adding each other on steam to keep in contact and end up being banned due to association and being friends with them, I'd hate to get banned for just going with the flow whenever I do eventually get a PC and Rust, some of these servers are just... unnecessarily too strict and should at least go for current hackers not worry about someone who used to hack but doesn't anymore

@@ZeroBrighton its just a rule? you dont HAVE to play on a server with the rule but with these big servers they dont want anything to do with cheaters so its a necessary rule to implement. and ur point abt the having added the person on steam they dont just see someone thats been banned on their friends list and ban them on all the servers they admin... im saying if they are playing with a cheater who they have added on a DIFFERENT account that is already banned then its pretty apparent they know the person is a cheater and therefore shd be banned for association.
