Hey Brad & Deb. It ships with some kind of cloth fiber insert for that, but I think it's mainly for leaves or something because I don't think it would keep any finer material in. For now, I've been using the crate box that my Big Tool Rack came in and the concept is solid. I'm going to make some removeable wood panels for it this summer! Thanks for watching, friends! :)

Hey Gator! Thanks for watching, man. I've backed a lot of trailers in my life including some really big/odd ones in the military. I'm going to keep at it and I'm sure backing will get a bit easier. Once my land is dry, I won't have to back up as much because all of my trails will be accessible. :) I'm looking forward to the summer, my friend!!

Good day - I have some experience towing equipment with a wheel at each corner of the trailer during my time in the military. We had large heavy boxes that contained communications and computers for various command and control missions. The front wheels used a drag link system to steer and keep the tires aligned. The point to this comment is to advise you not to back your trailer. As you stated, it will not go where you want it to go and backing with a load will put a lot of stress on the tongue of the trailer and damage it. And if you are towing on very uneven terrain, consider putting a “pintle hook” hitch on the trailer. It’s what we used in the military and they articulate a lot better then a ball hitch. Enjoy the journey - cheers
@PaleHorseOutdoors
@PaleHorseOutdoors 2 года назад
Hi Bob! Good to see you man, it's been a while. I hope you're doing well. I didn't even think of getting a towing pintle instead of the ball hitch. I pulled a lot of big trailers while in the Army and that hitch helped me get a 16' tacsat dish and two other prime mover/trailer combos down the bombed out Baghdad highway with relative ease. Great idea man! Take care, my friend! Cheers

Hi David! Looks like a very nice logging wagon! I remember seeing it in the Northern Tool catalog. The fifth wheel design is a real advantage in tight spaces but is a booger bear backing up. You’ll be able to haul a lot of stuff on it and not just logs. Thanks for sharing!
@PaleHorseOutdoors
@PaleHorseOutdoors 2 года назад
Hey Martin! That's right, Northern Tool has this one and another UTV utility cart from Bannon. Both of them seem to be really good wagons, but this one looked the most sturdy for logs. I like that it's on 2 axles so I can drop it from the tractor and it stays level. It's the perfect size for my woods and narrow trails for logging and you're right - I can put in side panels to make a haul box or I can remove the bolsters and make a flatbed. Thanks again, my friend! I really appreciate it! Cheers :)

Definitely! I've seen it pulled behind a small 2-seat UTV. I've thought about hooking it up to my Cub Cadet to see if it would pull it and a load. That is a rather sweet looking little wagon David. my first thought was the tires might be an issue. The inside tire seems to always be the one that gives you grief. Looks like you went all in on this one too. You got the wheel chocks and the whole 9 yards. Good addition to your stuff David. One of the things that I would do is to put tubes in the tires. I am no fan of tubeless tires. With them, it is never a question of it they will fail, but when.

Hey Chris! It's mostly sunny now, but we're still getting the off/on weirdness of spring. I agree - there are tons of uses for this wagon besides logs. It's an awesome flatbed trailer when you take off the bolsters. The front guard likely will stay in the shop most of the time! It does have it's uses, but not when logging and using grapple, though! Thanks for watching, bud! :)
@RossOnTheLand
@RossOnTheLand 2 года назад
That is quite the trailer! Very impressive. Was thinking if you could lower (shorten) at least one of the bolsters on the loading side, that first row of logs may not roll back on you. And make loading them easier, or just get used to lifting the logs higher as you are :) awesome video my friend. If I were to get one I'd need a bigger shop! Haha
@PaleHorseOutdoors
@PaleHorseOutdoors 2 года назад
Hey Ross! Yes, that's a really good idea. I assume I can buy some additional bolsters from Northern Tool and cut them down for the first load. They go on and off so easily I don't think it would take too much time. I'm thinking I need a bigger shop too! LOL Thanks for watching, my friend! :)
@davidradzik2797

Great job David.. I immediately thought.. oh I hope you get the tongue out of the bushes to reconnect to your BTR. I also was thinking that you could probably leave the stanchions on, and come over the top with the grapple (with grapple rotated top jaw down) and allow center stanchion to pierce the tines, then lower the grapple and open jaws. Difficult to see if there is enough clearance behind (tractor side) of the SSQA for the center stanchion, if the logs in the grapple prevents doing it the other way. Might require some experimentation. Backing up with two pivot points is tricky.. requiring a light touch with steering.. almost like an 18-wheeler with a set of doubles.. good luck 👍
@PaleHorseOutdoors
@PaleHorseOutdoors 2 года назад
Hey David! Yeah I'm going to experiment with using the stanchions in different configurations to see what the best approach it. Visibility of that part of the tractor is pretty good from the operator seat. I'm going to try your ideas and the ideas of a few other commenters. Even as is, it's a good setup so I'm really happy with this little wagon. It's the perfect size for the woods and the narrow trails over here! Thanks for watching, my friend. See you soon!!

How's she goin'? Nice trailer David!!! That should carry a good amount of logs eh. Having the posts come off like they do, it will be easy to load and unload. We had a big wagon at work for moving some of our big equipment. The trailer was probably 14 feet long and 8 feet wide and good for 20 000 pounds!! A lot of guys tried to back up with it and failed, but there was one guy, Ronnie was his name, and he could back that wagon up like you would not believe, so he was always driving the fork truck on moving days!!!. Thanks for sharing and take care!!!

Over 15 years we have added electric dump, hf truck bed canvas crank out load dump thing, bigger axes (oem axle broke at 3400 pounds falling off a mountain in wyoming) and now has 33 inch wheels from a Silverado. I think we now have about $650 in it these days. The $1000 for this trailer is WAY OVER PRICED!!!.
