Banshee or Blaster Exhaust Leaking Oil or Smoking Fix 

Bought a Kx500, this being my first 2 stroke , I have the leaking smoke issue. I suspected it needed new o rings and this video made me certain. Thanks so much.

The side that is causing the problem will slow the entire engine down. Not just one side. The engine works as a unit.

You could try a rubber fuel line about that size with some clamps.

I have not repacked my silencers yet. I'm hoping to go to silver lake sand dunes and need to look into spark arrestors. I don't think these silencers have them.

Just got an 89 banshee and mine leaks from the header and out of one silencer thanks really helped seing as im a car mechanic not a atv one lol going to repack and re seal everything ans see how she runs! Also subbed for the info

There could be other contributing factors but engine/exhaust leaks are a HUGE problem. I did a vid on them if you wanna check it out.

Hey Sparky, thank you so much for this video. I was about to drive myself crazy worrying about one side smoking more than the other but you clarified that it is just naturally going to happen sometimes. I do have an exhaust leak on my left pipe, but after watching this video I see that all I will have to do is replace the O-rings and get some new tension springs as well because the left spring is not tight like the right. Quick question because I am a Banshee noob. What is a muffler bearing?

the compression is okay its just when its in netural both of both its just when I put it in first gear and hit the throddle than release it thats when the right sidd stops smoking okay I will do that

Clean your carbs and switch the coils as I mentioned in the video. That will tell you if it is an electrical problem or fuel problem. How is the compression?

My left exhaust was not putting out the power the right one was. Ended up being a clogged pilot jet on the left carb.

Sounds like an exhaust leak. Check out my vid on it. Also check your compression in both cylinders,

hey i have a yamaha blaster it shut off one day while riding 1 minute later i start it up it makes a clank noise people r saying it’s a exhaust leak but idk i never tried to start it after that

I did see earlier in the week while on choke some smoke coming out from the left header/silencer attachment flange. that would just cause the one side to run crappy correct? not both?

Occasionally when my engine is still cold one of my pipes will shoot out like a loud puff Kind of like if you made a SH sound. I guess I'm not the most informed person in the world but do you know what that would be?

my bike the right side pipe stops smoking but when I push the throddle it smokes its when I let off the throddle the smoking is on and off I took the header off completely and ran gas thru it to clean but its doing the same thing I took both the spark plugs off to clean it they were a little bit burt but still starts left side is all fine its the right side im havin problems with the on and off smoking do you think if I change the spark plugs it will run fine I have a 1999 yamaha banshe

Hey I was wondering if you could help me with my banshee? Just put a new motor in and couldnt get it to start up because the left side wasnt getting any gas I took apart the carbs cleaned them out put em in and it started. Then I noticed the left silencer stopped smoking and there was alot of gas dripping out the over flow hose. I turned my banshee off for a minute then when I went to fire it up again it wouldnt start and the spark plug is soaked with gas. What do you think my issue is ?

What if a lot of smoke comes out and a lot of Oil

Hey I finally fixed my no spark issue on my banshee turrned out to be a bad cdi. My problem now is it runs but smokes quite a bit. I run amsoil interceptor at 32:1 is that too much? It drips alot of oil out the silencers. It's bone stock btw. I was thinking about running 40:1 but I didnt wanna risk blowing the top end. Or how hard is it to switch back to a dino oil. I was thinking about going back to yamalube 2s never had an issue running that at 32:1 in my old banshee.

Mine has a lil bit that comes out when I turn it off like it’s burning it’s a new pipe tho and it not glowing red that Normal

i have a 2001 yamaha blaster and we just had the engine rebuilt as it was leaking oil from right above where the exhaust goes into engine. it is leaking in the same place now and the mechanic that we took it to said it will stop after we break it in. he said we need to ride it for ten to 15 hours then it will stop. doesnt sound right to me. at all. please help??

hey brother, my atv (2001 mojave 250) smokes (white) and leaks a bit of oil through the exhaust but compression is good and runs strong. I was thinking it was the rings, what do you think? mine is a 4 stroke DOHC liquid cooled. Thanks in advance

I have a 2006 banshee and it feels very boggy when i lightly hit the throttle , but it clears up once I put more pressure on throttle, how can i fix this?

My banshee smokes blue badly. I brought it up to Yamaha Garage and the mechanic told me that i should get new pipes for it cause the filter inside doesn't let the oil out only when the engine's hot. Is it true or not?

It's ok if there is oil leaking from the silencer that's normal
